Fang Zhongshan Pepper Spice Soup — Restaurant in undefined

This is one of the specialty dish in Henan and I wanted to try. Am recommended to visit this place over several social media platforms in China and this shop and branch is rather accessible from the Metro station. Was quite surprised to see so many people outside the shop as I was waiting to cross the traffic junction across the street. As I got to the shop, I realised there is a counter to order and pay for food, and the rest of the window counters are for collecting different types of food. Had to ask the counter about the soup, as I understood there were varying levels of spiciness and I didn't want to pick one too spicy. Then was asked to try the scallion pancake and I ordered an additional soya beancurd. I was given different receipts to collect the different items from different counters. Then I had to go into the shop and find an empty place to sit. It's free seating for all and you can sit anywhere you like by sharing tables with others. First tried the spicy pepper soup. It tasted pretty unique and yet good that I liked it. Tasted quite a bit like curry except they were more generous in the spices, and the beef inside was well cooked and could almost melt in the mouth. The scallion pancake was also very good, hot and crispy and flavourful, it's recommended to dip and eat with the spicy soup. Thought I could have the beancurd as a dessert and it ended the meal well, but I saw people adding beancurd into the spicy soup as well. Looks like any other items bought other than the spicy soup can be poured into it to enjoy together. Looks like strange combination but the locals were enjoying it a lot. I definitely recommend this place for a true authentic Henan experience and do visit here...
