Hotel EL SOL LA 27 — Hotel in Aguachica

I stayed here for 1 night during my solo bicycle tour through Colombia. In order to obtain a better idea of local accommodation standards and costs, I waited 2 weeks (after staying in 10+ hotels) before writing this review. I speak Spanish and was therefore able to communicate well with my host(s).||||Pluses||The owner and manager Julio, who happened to be a fellow cyclist, welcomed me into his hotel even though I had arrived early on my bike (08h30) from Pelaya. I had an upstairs room (#201). It was spacious, and my bike and trailer fitted easily. It had an en-suite bathroom with refreshing cold shower. (No hot water, but not needed in this hot climate). It had a small refrigerator with drinks and snacks at reasonable prices. The room was bright and attractive, and had a quiet, powerful A/C. It had a comfortable table and chair at which I could use my laptop. In-room Wi-Fi worked well, if a little slower at night. I was invited to hand-wash and hang my clothes out back. Julio was super friendly. He helped carry my trailer upstairs. There was an Olympica supermarket about 10 minutes’ walk away. The hotel faces a side street so street noise wasn’t bad.||||The next morning I left early (05h30). Julio was already up, and insisted on accompanying me on his bike about 2 km to hiway 45, for the next leg of my bike tour.||||Minuses||Early evening the dogs next door were rather loud. They quietened by the time I went to bed and I slept well.||||Summary||The room was very good value at 45k COP (about USD16). I would stay...

Estuvimos con mi esposa el pasado 29 de noviembre de 2016, llegue allí por recomendación de esta página, sinceramente muy cómodo pero me hubiese gustado que nuestra habitación tuviera agua disponible, nos asignaron una en el tercer piso (en la zona que aún está en obra) cuando llevas más de ocho horas al volante lo mínimo que necesita es una buena ducha. Y taran!!! nuestra habitación No tenía agua, como no hay un teléfono para llamar a la recepción, debes bajar a pedir que te ayuden con lo que necesitas, estoy seguro que por este precio muchos dirán "por qué no conformarse", pero pues un teléfono en la habitación con conexión a la recepción no cuesta demasiado y sirve mucho. En fin, no quiero ser odioso, y puedo decir que la habitación cumplió con los requisitos de mi señora, limpia, cómoda y fresca, y esto me deja feliz, al día siguiente nos fuimos a las 4:30 am... Tampoco...

Really enjoyed my stay here.was cycling South and decided to stop in form one night. Hotel is quite new, the room was very clean, great ac, nice bathroom. Julio the owner was very friendly and loved to chat. Took a big interest in my trip and my bike. Definitely...
