Hotel Tintan — Hotel in Barranquilla

Male couple travelling together. We booked a double bed for 45000cop on booking.com and on arrival our booking was refused and we were made to pay 50000cop for two single beds.||Staff were friendly enough though, even if only checking in through a thin slit in blacked out windowed reception booth. ||||Hotel appeared quite clean. Room and bathroom were clean. Sheets had been laundered but still had some light stains on them, not a big problem. ||Bed was very, very firm. Towel with soap and toilet paper was provided in room. TV and wall mounted fans in room too. ||||WiFi only worked in reception. ||Surrounding area was quite unsafe at night. Two strip clubs were just down the street and really no other options for food. Supermarket is not close either. Hotel seemed fairly secure with locked front doors and CCTV throughout the property. ||||Luckily for us our intercity bus dropped us off at the hotel, saving us a taxi fare and a taxi to the airport from the hotel is 15 minutes for 15000cop.||||We chose this hotel based on price and proximity to the airport, so for the money it really...

The hotel is extremely creepy, some rooms don't have windows and all of them smell like old sweat. They did change us of room when we asked to have one with a window though. Bathroom is filthy. They don't give you toilet paper if you don't ask - and only give you a bit of it (not a full roll) when you ask. |We asked for food to be delivered and they called another restaurant than the one we had asked for, much more expensive....

The highest compliment to a hotel is not of listening to a complaint but to give recognition of an existing or potential problem and taking care of it. | |We checked in one day, placing my watch and jewelry in my traveling suitcase. When I discovered it missing, I went to give notice. For the most they said and did nothing but to say too bad. This is sign of lack of action or refusal to admit or taking part in this problem.
