I returned to the Holiday Inn Cacique in Bucaramanga since Feb 2018. I got jammed up by my flight into Colombia, when my bags got delayed a day. I was only staying for two nights to briefly connect with friends, so I was a bit anxious. I received a welcoming drink (I chose water, instead of the more tasty looking juice offering), but I was still a bit frazzled (unsettled). I entered the room and was shocked!!! They gave me a suite!!! Wait, I booked a suite? Oh yes I did book a suite, and it has a Jacuzzi bathtub. Woohoo!!!! Now, I remember. The rate was really good in comparison to typical US cities, so I decided to treat myself with a suite. ||Gorgeous view of the city. My floor was on the same level as the publicly available restaurant but you need a pass key to get to the room side of the floor. I made a quick run next door to the shopping mall and found some nice clothes and toiletries. ||The next day my anxiety was not alleviated as I could not assess whether my bags were making their way to Bucaramanga from Bogota. I asked a staff member at the reception to assist me in dialing my airline. We eventually grew to a team of four trying to find the correct number and department withing the US and Colombia to track down my bags. Actually, the airline did not drop the ball in getting my bag to Bucaramanga, but the window of delivery to the hotel was another 24 hours. I decided to meet my bags at the Bucaramanga airport. The hotel provided a taxi at a nominal fee, whose driver waited for me to collect my bags, and we subsequently took a lunch and day trip in Giron which was on the way back. Now, I felt at ease. Thanks...
Read moreThis was my second stay at the Holiday Inn Bucaramanga, from August 11th to August 17th 2025, and once again it lived up to expectations. My family and I stayed for a week, and overall, the experience was very positive. Previously, we had stayed at the Dann Carlton, but I found the Holiday Inn’s location and amenities more convenient. Being right next to the Cacique Mall is a big plus, and the hotel’s spacious lobby makes it easy to welcome and meet with family and friends. The pool terrace and restaurant are also great gathering spots.||As before, I stayed on the upper floors. The hotel was quite busy, which seems to be the norm since there’s always something going on. Despite that, the service was excellent, and the breakfast buffet was very good. One day, feeling nostalgic about the Dann Carlton’s terrace breakfasts, we decided to go there instead. Unfortunately, the breakfast was now being served on the first floor and the selection was far more limited than in the past. In hindsight, we wished we had just stayed with the Holiday Inn’s breakfast.||The only hiccup during this stay was one evening at the pool terrace, when a waiter claimed they had no food items available in the evening. That wasn’t true, since the night before we had hosted family and friends there and enjoyed a nice variety of finger foods.||Another convenience worth noting is the availability of white taxis at the hotel entrance at all times. Overall, I believe the Holiday Inn is currently the most practical and convenient place to stay in...
Read moreThis is great property, located in a shopping center (with its own entrance and exit,it just shares the building). so you have movie theaters, restaurants, and shops nearby.
The lobby is very welcoming and the front desk staff is very professional and makes you feel welcomed right away.
The rooms are spacious and modern...the views are awesome and selection of TV channels is very extensive, but the wifi needs some work to make it reliable.
The restaurant has a great 180 degree view of the city and the food is excellent. The service is very professional at all times.
The odd piece in this whole experience was the Sky Bar. Located on the top floor, this bar has great potential. Limitations are the following:
The swimming pool is located on this floor, yet they won't serve food during the weekdays. So if you want to snack or have lunch while enjoying the pool... think again.
The Sky Bar functions as a social gathering in the evenings. Over the weekend when they do serve food, it only until 11 pm. So again if you want to have a drink and have some food, better do it before 11 pm. (The staff won't tell you until you ask for a food item, then they inform you that its too late or its a weekday and they don't serve food).
Overall, the property has great things going for it, (location, staff and value). I would recommend this property to any friend visiting...
