I booked this hotel because my mom worked here when she was young. I thought it would be good. Looked for it on booking, good rates and good rating. The rate from the airport to the hotel in uber is 9.500COP ish. So dont over pay!|The hotel: remodeled, had a good AC in the lobby. The common area was always clean. |The staff: such nice people still in cucuta!!! To be honest the service in Cucuta is HORRIBLE, like the worst in all Colombia. However the staff was really attentive, nice and willingly to help. Andrea and Leidy really nice front desk service. The gentlemen at the restaurant very nice. |The pool: it's ok, not big enough to be honest. I would add something to the pool side, it's a bit dull. No music or speakers so take yours. Maybe more tanning chairs and some tables. It was hell of cold the pool both days I went in. |Restaurant: breakfast awesome, I would add maybe pancakes or oatmeal. The cocktails were good, the mojito must be shredded a little bit more, you would sip the pieces of mint. The lasagna really good and the Arizona steak super tasty. Lack of ambiance, music guys! Like jazz or something inside. |Room: thanks for the early check in!! the bed was comfortable, good AC, the water heater was tricky. First only cold water and then hell water. The blinds out of style. Still clothing blinds, maybe try upgrading to blackouts. ||Overall, good place to stay, really basic, exactly what you are paying for. Cucuta is way expensive than it should be for the city that it is. Maybe if I go back...
Read moreStay was poor because of the customer service never got to make a reservation because they were more worried of rather I had a stamp in my passport and was legal to be in Columbia. Then they were making a reservation for me. I travel 2,000 miles and come through immigration at the airport several times a year. You don't fly to any country without getting a passport stamp. Either way we continue to conversation through WhatsApp. I asked for a price they still never gave me a full price then obviously there's a shift change I write back people read the message but they don't respond back. I write the next day to set up the reservation and they tell me oh we don't have availability but their website still has availability. I was trying to book what they call their romantic package. Plus a few extra days on the sides of the stay. I should also say that I wrote this hotel 10 days before my travel in regards to the same reservation and got no response back. On WhatsApp I was being responded to buy an Angie I don't know who else but I do not recommend making a reservation at this hotel. I'd recommend maybe staying at the Hotel Casino International a lot better customer service and responds to questions and concerns efficiently. Less worried about where you're from cuz at check -in they check your passport. I guess this is why my travel agent did not recommend me staying at this facility. Thanks for nothing nothing...
Read moreThough it's not a city a frequently visit, I consider this hotel can easily suit your business or leisure expectations. Its location is quite convenient and the service is also very good. Since I usually prefer reviews with lists of PROs and CONs, I'm also going to do it like this:||||PROs:||- As I said, location! Just 15 minutes from the airport and around U$5 in a cab.||- Service: very nice front desk and restaurant service.||- Breakfast was delicious and very abundant. The buffet includes lots of fruits, juices, bread, eggs... quite complete.||- Though the rooms were not very big, I'd say they're good enough in size and being remodeled.||- They also have an outdoor pool by the restaurant, in a motel type setting (some rooms are located around the pool)… and a spa (U$18-20 for a 45 minute plain massage)||- Value! Great deal for around U$55-65 / night ||||CONs:||- A bit outdated in some areas of the hotel, but they are renewing everything||- Some rooms not as good as other ones, so ask in advance to be shown the options they have if it’s not too overbooked.||||All-around, a good option in this city....
