Hotel Chucarima — Hotel in Cúcuta

We found this small hotel while trying to find a decent place to stay in a family emergency. We were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is definitively not in a nice area of the city and you have to plan accordingly (i.e. do not walk in the area after dark, but taking a cab to/from there is ok). But once inside, it has a homey feeling. Rooms are the right size and they are clean and well appointed. Beds and pillows are comfortable and the AC works. Stayed for 2 nights at this hotel while I was visit Cucuta.

PROS: very friendly staff (when I checked the man working spoke some English and was super nice) good location downtown clean price was super reasonable decent breakfast swimming pool but I didn’t use it secure covered parking good wifi

CONS: area at night was kind of dangerous and you need to take a taxi because Uber doesn’t really work in Cucuta (you have to negotiate a price on the app for every ride) the hot water didn’t work

Not sure I’d stay here again as the hot water not working...
