Ding-Dong Hostel — Hotel in Cali

Stayed here twice, it's a cosy, affordable, hit and miss hostel, a little outside the tourist centre with cheaper prices and does what you need, good hot shower, working wifi and well equipped kitchens.

My first stay was perfect, and the private single listed on airbnb is lovely. Nice bed, desk, plugs, balcony, warm, and friendly receptionist. I give a lot of thanks to Diana and Daniella, who work on the weekdays and shared some food with me after a long day travelling. They were helpful and friendly throughout. I was also super happy with the powerful hot showers and clean bathrooms.

I was less impressed on my second stay when I brought friends to stay at Ding Dong. The triple/quadruple rooms were not great at all, outdated and cramped. The receptionist was much less friendly or helpful. The Quadruple room on the first floor is without any side tables or wardrobe or desk. There were no lamps (only an intense white light and nowhere to store belongings. And worst, we were 3 people with one functioning plug in the room. Annoying. Also, a small annoyance was the lazy reception who didn't refill the fridge with water even though they had it in stock and the hostel is hot. This happened 2 days in a row.

My friends and I weren't happy with the room and were moved to another room after some persuasion. Which was much nicer and came with a balcony.

I loved my stay in the hostel!! It's in a safe residential area with a lot of restaurants and things to do around it. The reception is also staffed during nighttime so I always felt safe.

I booked one room which had several beds in it but that didn't bother me at all. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful, everything including the well stocked kitchen is always clean and there's lots of things you can do around that area. It's also close to the popular Salsa y Rumba dance school (I was always walking there) and the famous La Topa salsa bar.

It's not a party hostel which I loved as Cali in itself with the nightlife and dancing is exhausting enough so I did appreciate my good night's sleep a lot 😊

Me he alojado en MUCHOS albergues y siempre estoy buscando una estancia de calidad que se ajuste a mi presupuesto. Esta fue una de las mejores experiencias que he tenido en un albergue, si no la mejor. Me quedé diez días, así que pude experimentarlo a través de diferentes días y otros huéspedes. Reserva sin dudarlo.

Soy un nómada digital por lo que la conectividad wifi, la tranquilidad y un lugar cómodo para trabajar y descansar son muy importantes para mí. Este albergue fue PERFECTO para mí. Mi habitación era FABULOSA. Tenía una cama doble, un rincón de trabajo con un escritorio y cajones espaciosos y cómodos. luz dedicada, energía y todo lo que necesitaba para mi configuración de trabajo completa, y un porche privado con hamaca. Dormí con las puertas del porche abiertas todas las noches y. Una vez tuve una grande en mis habitaciones. No había aire acondicionado, pero los ventiladores eran perfectos para mantenerme cómodo y dormí como un bebé todas las noches.

También tenía espacios MUY cómodos para descansar y trabajar, lo cual es diferente a la mayoría de los albergues. Es realmente silencioso, tranquilo y con un diseño excepcionalmente inteligente, con una cocina limpia y funcional, baños limpios equipados con papel higiénico decente e incluso toallas de tela, luces automáticas en los pasillos que saben exactamente cuándo las necesitas y muchos enchufes y tomas para cargar. Tú decides si te sientas en un escritorio, duermes o te balanceas en una hamaca.

¡Café gratis durante todo el día! A una cuadra de Havana Hostel, que ofrece excelentes clases de baile y eventos sociales, justo al lado de un nuevo restaurante vegano y a menos de una cuadra de una tienda donde puedes comprar y los alimentos que necesitas. Caminé a las tiendas y restaurantes de San Antonia todos los días. El personal aquí es excepcional. Todo se mantuvo limpio y tranquilo durante toda mi estancia, pero también amable y relajado. El ambiente aquí es PERFECTO, pero si está buscando una fiesta donde pueda dormir, no reserve aquí porque el ambiente sin fiesta es perfecto para profesionales que viajan y personas que valoran un ambiente...
