El Nido Hotel Guatape — Hotel in Guatapé

This place is a gem - equal parts relaxing, artistic, and inspiring. We stayed in the family cabanas, which I can’t recommend enough. They’re beautifully designed, with a creative, nature-inspired aesthetic that makes you feel completely immersed in the landscape. Waking up to the lake view, surrounded by trees and birdsong, was unforgettable.

El Nido strikes the perfect balance of location: close enough to Guatapé to be convenient (just a 5-minute motochiva ride into town), but far enough to feel peaceful and removed.

The grounds are stunning - lush, expansive, and meticulously cared for. There are plenty of spaces to relax, eat, read, or just take in the incredible view.

The staff are phenomenal. Every single person we interacted with was cheerful, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. They helped us organize private transportation from Medellín, booked on-site massages, and arranged kayaks and SUPs for us to enjoy the lake. We felt completely taken care of, in the best way. Thank you for answering so many of my questions before and during our trip!

The food is excellent, too. Everything we ate was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It was such a bonus to have great meals right on-site, especially after long days out and with a huge group with kids.

If you’re planning a trip to Guatapé, don’t hesitate - book El Nido. I’d recommend staying 2 to 3 nights so you have time to slow down and really soak it in. It’s a perfect setting for families, couples, or anyone who wants a few days of connection to nature without sacrificing comfort or style.

I couldn’t make a better recommendation. The staff was amazing in welcoming us to the town by joining our charter bus and sharing mini desserts on our way in. The food at the restaurant was fantastic. They helped us navigate the town and where to go to certain things and when.

The accommodations were next level. We had the most incredible views from rooms that were very updated and super comfortable. And as silly as this is, I absolutely loved the scent of the hand soap :).

We also enjoyed all the amenities with lakeside massages, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding. It was calm and relaxing with a quick and easy trip to town for some more activity.

I would absolutely return. We felt safe and always had help when needed to...

This beautiful hotel offers the best quality and personalized service. You are always greeted with a welcome. The staff are so accommodating and friendly. The facilities are quintessential and make you feel like you are royalty. The rooms are super comfortable and have a great view of the rock “Piedra del Peñon” from anywhere in the hotel and from every room which is a real plus. The hotel has great spaces to relax and enjoy great experiences and adventures. The beautiful downtown of Guatapé is just 5 minutes away.
