Mixed feelings, some things were amazing, some things i didn’t like. First i’ll start with the positive things. -the snorkeling in the morning at 04:30 was magical, must do! With the plankton and jellyfish that light up. Beautiful! Big highlight. beautiful sunrises took the boat to a snorkelspot where we saw nice fish (reef was not spectacular) the snorkelingtour in the afternoon to the mangroves was great, beautiful colors. water refill is for free the big beds at the sea to relax and sun are great! the beds in the dorm were good.
But there were some less great things otherwise it would be 5 stars. we choose the dorm, which costs quite a lot but is pretty cold and windy. there is a generator making a lot of noise in the night there is 1 big kingsize bed where the host sleeps in the middle of the dorm, is a bit weird + one member of the crew also slept in the dorm the 3 parrots walk around and demolish stuff (they bit some parts of my blouse, my girlfriends flipflops and another girls headband) there was no sign with the tours and what they cost. (In my opinion for that money the boatrides to snorklingspots should be for free) there was no menu with the costs for food and drinks (but they said that will be there soon, still write it down somewhere would be possible) the second day we only got to choose for dinner between: arepas with some tuna / sandwich with tuna / cassedillas with cheese. Looked like there was no food for a proper meal? Bit unprofessional if you ask me. the place is nice and clean but if you walk 100 meters there is a lot of trash washed a shore. Beachcleanup should be done one in a while. the drinking water comes in plastic bags, not really environmental friendly, 20liter cans would be better and can be used...
Read moreHorribly dirty bathroom, disgusting. Pictures on booking do not represent to reality. There is no beach. It is super expensive and does not have the value for the price at all. You can eat when they decide so that means that on your holiday they wake you up early in the morning because of breakfast. But you cannot choose the breakfast, they decide what you eat. Then you have to adapt to their schedule when you don’t want to stay hungry. They have very poor choice of everything. You cannot leave the place because there are no roads on the island so you can just stay on a very dirty public beach with plastics and rubish everywhere. They take you snorkeling which is not cheap at all but the boat trip takes like 5minutes and snorkeling itself 40 minutes. In the end we paid for two nights 500€ while we could not eat when and where we wanted. And the cherry on the top when we wanted to pay, their system was not working properly, it took 40minutes and in the end we had to payfor our friends because the system was not simply working. Maybe for very adventurous people who dont need clean bed, clean shower and who dont need to have beach by the sea and who dont mind looking at the rubbish all over the place. It is ugliest beach, sea and accomodation I...
Read moreHad an amazing stay here at El Embrujo and was very sad to leave. The rooms are luxurious and they’re building even more amazing huts. The manager kindly gave us a free upgrade as the room was available. The location is incredible- gorgeous beaches that the workers work hard to keep clean. Clear water that you can see loads of fish in round the dock. Really nice relaxed atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious, highly recommend the fish of the day lunch. It was quite pricey but the portions were always plentiful and always yummy. if you don’t want to buy dinner I think they take it quite personally and seemed annoyed but overall staff and volunteers there were super friendly. We saw some of the other accommodations in Tintipán when we went round on the boat and El Embrujo is probably the best place you can stay here! Worth every penny and highly recommend (also will add that the sunsets there...
