Traveling from Bucaramanga to cali, we stayed one night (Saturday night in december). Two bedrooms (2 adults in room #4 and 2 adults + 2 kids in room #11).||||BOTH rooms were really good. Room #4 has queen bed + big bathroom, with old air conditioning & fan, really comfortable. Room #11 has two queen bed + small bathroom + new air conditioning + fan.||||PRO||||- The hotel place is far from main road, so it is a noiseless place. Although it was Saturday night it was peaceful. ||- Service is SUPERB kind.||- Hotel location is easy, find it on waze & google.||- Parking is large & safe. I traveled with an over-roof "thule" cargo & I left it over the car with no concern. During night hotel closes its main entrance. ||- Located beside the “Ermita Church” which is beautiful, must see.||- Price: COP$170.000 (US$53) 4 pax; COP$130.000 (US$41) 2 pax. Not breakfast included. Breakfast for 4 adults COP$35.000 (US$11) approx.||- Nice swimming pool. Restrooms in social area are good.||- WiFi: free, and good signal in social area.||- Mattresses and pillows are just ok.||- Overall it is a clean place, well kept & with nice gardens.||- Credit cards accepted.||- Food from external restaurants ("domicilios") is accepted and they have the food menu chart from 2 places nearby. ||||CON||- Not hot water for shower, but this is a HOT place! Mariquita town is 450 meters above sea level (1.476 feet over sea level). Probably you won't miss hot water. ||- Must improve in recycling trash system.||- No safety box in rooms.||- Just one pillow per person, if you need more ask in advance to them. ||- The matresses hardness is variable: soft, hard, so ask for the one you need/prefer in advance.||- WiFi signal in rooms is weak/variable depending room location.||||For the price, nice place, kindness service I must evaluate this "Boutique" hotel...
Read moreOur birding tour group spent one night here and it was basically a place to sleep along the way. I was impressed by all the landscaping with palms and flowering plants - very nice.||||We lucked out and got a room right in front of the pool so the first thing I did was go swimming. The pool is not heated and water was cold but I found that refreshing after a long day of travel and field outings. ||||There wasn't a restaurant or it wasn't open at the hotel, so we had to walk about five blocks down the street to have dinner, which was a good way to see a little bit of town. A historic Catholic Church is basically across the street from the hotel so I walked over to check it out.||||The hotel room was very clean and we had a nice quiet night, so I would definitely...
Read moreI seem to be on my own here but sadly we found nothing to like in this hotel. We only stayed one night in a downstairs room by the pool. The bed was the worst we had slept in during a 4 week tour of Colombia. Hard, one tiny pillow, but the worst thing was the bottom sheet wasn’t big enough to cover the mattress so we kept waking up as we tried to turn over directly lying on a rubber mattress. It really was most uncomfortable and not at all hygienic. The fridge was very noisy and when we tried to turn it off, found it was wired directly into the wall - no plug!||The evening meal was chicken kebabs and rice, again truely awful. We left before breakfast. Such a shame, the only hotel on our travels where we weren’t made to feel welcome. So sorry La Quinta we can’t...
