We were traveling a group of 6 friends. Four members of the group got decent rooms. Two of us got the worst room in the island. Even if we were paying like 25 dollars per head a night, that room was not worth it. It was in the back of the house, with a strong humidity smell and a little window that had a view to nowhere (and we were staying at an island surrounded by ocean). The bathroom had no shower curtain so when you took a shower the bathroom turned into a pond. The water force of the shower was so dimm that you had to stick to the wall to get a little bit of water. There was no AC so the manager gave us a couple of fans. We were staying with a gigantic prehistoric Cockroach that probably would not die with an atomic explosion. We did a money transfer of half of the cost of the stay from Bogota to the manager. After 2 days of stay we told her that we were not happy with the room, so she gave us an old shower curtain and showed us two other possible rooms. One of the other rooms was in the basement of a house that reminded me of how jails for kidnapped people are portrayed in movies. The other room only fitted one person. At the fifth day we told the manager that we were leaving to Hotel Morgan that offered a great room with a terrace and great view, hammocks, AC, with a pool and a restaurant for a little bit of more money. She told us that she was not going to give us the money back for one of the days that we payed and that we were not going to stay. By the way, they didn't changed our blankets for a couple of days. So, if you are a soldier and want to live like if you were in a Vietnam movie like in Saigon, go to this hotel, but ask...
Read moreI came here because it was recommended by an agency in San Andres, booked three nights as I wanted a sea-facing room. As my flight had got in early in the morning, I was touched that Laudina ( very sweet, I agree!) offered me breakfast and an early checkin.|However I found the room unappealing, unclean ( the old fridge had dirty stains, bed sheets not as clean as I would have liked), bathroom really tiny and minimalistic, and worst of all, mosquitoes that made my night a total disaster ( I killed 5!). In a place like this, mosquito nets should be mandatory for guests.|My next door neighbours had hung out all their swimming gear and wet towels right outside my window, so bang went my sea-view. Of course it wasn’t Laudina’s fault.. but why put clothes lines just outside windows overlooking a spectacular view ?||I moved out early next morning to a much nicer, quieter and cleaner place - and thoroughly enjoyed the rest of my 5 day stay. All in all, wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t...
Read moreProvidencia doesn't have many budget locations. This is one of the few. It has a great view and you can jump right in to the sea. Although this can be said for almost all the places in Providencia||||Only one disadventage: I made a reservation through the website. I got a confirmation of this. When I showed up, the claimed not to have received it. But the real story was they got a booking for 20 people or so and did not want to turn away this big party. ||||When a friend came and wanted to stay in the place, they said a certain room was already booked. The next day I noticed no one had stayed in that room. they wanted to keep it free so they could prepare it for the big party that was coming.||||Also with other stuff I found out the owner was not very thruthfull. She acts friendly, but you're just another dollarbill for her.||||Besides this, the place was quite ok. However, if you spend a little bit more bucks, you will get nices places (sandy beach, not rocks. Restaurant...
