They cabins arre thoughtfully designed to blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings, mine had all the amenities I needed, allowing me to relax and unwind in style. The hotel is also conveniently located near a serene river, which provided the perfect backdrop for peaceful nature walks.
I appreciated the variety of options available regard to food, please don't miss the artisanal pizza if you go. Breakfast was living a farm experience, freshly made coffee, village arepas, fruits picked from the same farm, a sustainable and environmentally responsible delight.

Pablo’s extensive knowledge of native plants is impressive, and his dedication to the land is evident in every corner. Melissa’s creativity shines through in the stunning mosaics that adorn the floors and walls. Each room at Flora del Rio is a work of art, with beautiful wooden creations, handmade bed frames, tables, and handcrafted sinks. Everything is crafted from wood, bamboo, and mosaic tiling, making each space unique and special.

Read moreOur stay at Flora del Rio was amazing. Starting from the accommodation, you could see the care they put on building each cabin. The Colibrì cabin has stunning views on the river and the surrounding forest. Waking up listening to the sound of the river and the birds is unique. Pablo and Melissa welcomed us warmly in their hacienda, speaking about Colombia, its nature, its people and its food in a passionate way. We did the permaculture tour with Pablo who walked us through every sector of their farm speaking in details about native plants and their future plan to expand the farm and you could feel his passion about preserving indigenous plants and protecting the environment. Also dinner and breakfast were cooked with love with super local products. In addition Pijao is really a gem, away from touristy places. It's a pity we spent only two nights there. If you have a chance, book your stay here and you wouldn't be disappointed! Just a final note: take into consideration that the farm is 15min away from the main plaza and you have to walk on an unpaved road, so carrying a backpack...
