Bioma Boutique Hotel — Hotel in Santa Cruz de Mompóx

This is a quaint little hotel we found online. It’s listed as the best hotel in Mompox and might be. We arrived late at 8pm after a long bus ride and the night houseman was very friendly and welcoming. He helped carry our bags to our rooms and gave us keys. The rooms are spacious but unfortunately we found several bugs in the shower like cockroaches and spiders. This forced us to keep our shoes on at all times. The man who runs the breakfast in the morning was very sweet and kind. He helped me make the breakfast vegan and even gave me extra toast in the morning since I couldn’t eat the daily eggs. The front desk workers were equally as kind and helpful and always had a smile on their face. The pool was really warm probably from all the sun it receives all day. My daughter & I had a wonderful experience at Bioma Boutique Hotel. We arrived early morning & the lady at the front desk, very nice & friendly, gave us the room the moment we arrived. That was very nice of them. The hotel is beautiful, is an updated old house & they keep it in excellent shape. The decoration is very tasteful. The room is very confortable & modern. All the staff very friendly & ready to answer any question or bring us anything. Breakfast was great, I recommend a typical 'Arepa de huevo", is a fried egg inside a corn tortilla. The hotel has a terrace in the third floor with a jacuzzi which we did enjoy a lot to calm the hot weather of Mompox. Plus from the terrace there is a nice view of the city. We totally...

L'hotel non era segnalato sulla guida, ma l'ingresso arredato con semplice eleganza e i caldi colori di grandi cesti di frutta posti sui tavoli ci hanno incoraggiato ad entrare. Il patio ombroso e arredato con grandi poltrone, la piscina azzurra e le amache appese attorno hanno confermato anche all'interno la prima impressione digrande cura nei particolari e di misurata eleganza. Le camere, come tutto l'hotel, erano nuovissime (unico inconveniente, si sentiva ancora l'odore della tinteggiatura, anche per la grande umidità, ma ormai sarà passato), sufficientemente grandi, con pochissimi mobili, ma molto rilassanti. Il bagno grande, bello e funzionale. I proprietari, una coppia in pensione, deliziosi e accoglienti, pronti a suggerire il modo migliore di visitare Mompox e attenti nel procurarci un adeguato mezzo di trasporto per partire. A proposito: attenzione al viaggio di ritorno: la cittadina, affascinante e misteriosa, è isolata nella pianura tra i fiumi e occorre praticamente tutta la giornata per raggiungere una qualsiasi meta sulla strada per Bogotà (e anche per Cartagena). Partite alle 5 del mattino, perché dopo sarà troppo tardi per andare da qualsiasi parte. In ogni caso, attendere la partenza tra le vecchie mura di Bioma, come è successo a noi, è un'esperienza piacevole, sospesi fuori dal tempo in una città silenziosa e lenta, ma anche sorridente e piena di vita (visitate il vicino collegio, un bell'edificio giallo vivo di fine ottocento, dove centinaia di ragazzi con le bianche camicie studiano e passeggiano all'ombra dei portici).
