OK, where do I begin? I’ll begin in this manner with a question. Would I stay here again? OH H. E. Double Hockey Sticks YES!!! This place was such a welcome surprise as the search for a place to stay between Manizales and Pereira figured on the ability to freely move about in automobile and not be in violation of the “peak and plate” traffic control Colombia has during the work week. This property is in between both metropolitan areas just outside the municipality of Santa Rosa. I will admit that the road servicing the flow in and out to reach the property is in dire need of re-paving. This is an infrastructure issue that local government needs to address for the benefit of all property owners who live in this area. Anyhow, upon reaching the property I knew I had made a good decision. The entire staff makes you feel at home. It’s very rare to stay at a hotel property where the employees make every attempt to bring to life the feel of family and the attention to detail to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Kudos to Luz Nelly, Lina, Francisco, Adrianna, and the rest of the staff that represent this wonderful establishment. Honorable mention goes to Mocha the property dog. To finish off, the room was cozy comfortable. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were fabulous! The coffee tour was fantastic as well as the guest gets to learn a lot about the cultivation and production process. It’s funny how a guest can become so attached to this place. I look forward to...
Read moreWe spent four nights at this lovely property as the only guests except for one night. Our stay was during the evolving pandemic in Colombia. Putting that aside, I can only say our stay was absolutely 5 star. The property owner Nelly, was gracious and made you feel like family. The accomodations were wonderful, comfortable, clean and serviced everyday. The property is best described as an upscale Boutique hotel with I believe no more than eight rooms. Nelly and her staff offer a limited lunch/dinner menu cooked to order. Breakfast is included daily with lucious local fruit. Also cooked to order. Nelly and her wonderful staff were attentive to all of our needs, which weren't many. This is truly a place to lay back, relax, read a good book and enjoy the beautiful pool and spa. This gem is part of a coffee plantation that Nelly and her famiy operate. Make sure you take the tour offered daily. Very informative and enjoyable. There is lots to do within 45 miutes of the property. Hiking, biking, hot springs, horseback riding, kayaking, etc. This property sits about 40-60 miutes outside of Pereira which is about an hour flight from Bogota. My recommendation is to make this a must on your travel itinerary if traveling to Colombia. Our trip, cut short by the coronavirus outbreak, made our decision to return in the future...
Read moreWe just finished our stay at Finca Del Cafe for part of our honeymoon and absolutely love it! We were greeted by Nelly and her dog Mockachino who make you feel so welcome 🤗 the hotel is is very clean and so so beautiful and the perfect place if you want to get away and relax.
We did a tour through Finca Del Cafe with our driver Gustavo and tour guide Mauricio who did such an amazing job showing us Cocora Valley, Salento & Filandia. They were both so kind and really knowledgeable teaching us all about nature, Colombian history, and pretty much any questions they asked us. We are in Colombia for 3 weeks and so far spending the day with them has been the highlight of our trip. Cocora valley is a must see in Colombia especially with Mauricio who very throughly explained to us everything that we saw. He even took us to a local restaurant to eat local food!
All in all I would definitely recommend staying here! There arent enough nice things to say about the hotel, the staff (who really took their time speaking Spanish to us when we aren’t that good) and made us a delicious breakfast every morning. It will be an experience you will love and never forget. Thank you to everyone here that made this a wonderful part of our...
