Hotel Cafe Plaza Tulua — Hotel in Tuluá

If it wasn't for the staff and restaurant this would get a 1 star. The property is located near many shops and restaurants. No nightclubs near so no loud noise at night. In the morning different story. Make sure to get a room with a solid door. There are some rooms that have slotted vents in the door where you can hear noise. The included breakfast is the same thing everyday but lunch special is a great deal. My biggest complaint is the Pools. They advertise Jacuzzi but the heating element hasn't worked in a very long time... Then what's the point of a Jacuzzi? They respond that the water still moves. That is not a Jacuzzi then it's another pool. The other pools are so small there is nothing really to do but jump in and jump out. I ordered a beer and enjoying in the jacuzzi "pool" when went to order a 2nd round the waiter said I cannot have beers in the pool. I said then put in a cup and I will drink it that way. He said no drinks are allowed. I said im sitting in a cold jacuzzi I want to have a beer and try to enjoy. He said all food and drinks are consumed by the pool table or restaurant. I said I was going to order 5 more drinks and invite my friends but I will never go to the pool again. The only reason why I paid more for this property is the jacuzzi. #1 doesn't work and #2 enjoy a drink by the pool. They said it's Colombian law. If I can put it in the cup then it's not bothering anyone. I'm an adult and responsible when it comes to the pool. That is made up since I have been 50 times to Colombia and never had this issue with the pool. I have no plans to stay here again definitely not worth the...

Infortunadamente mi visita a este hotel fue decepcionante por decir lo mínimo. En primer lugar se encuentra en un cuarto piso sobre un establecimiento nocturno que para las habitaciones frontales genera mucho ruido. Me dijeron que no habían habitaciones disponibles con ventana a la calle y eso fue perfecto porque requería trabajar un rato y después buscaba descansar sin demasiados ruidos, me preguntaron si deseaba una habitación doble y como solo me hospedaría yo, dije que una habitación sencilla, expresión que tal vez fue confundida por la persona de recepción y creyó que había solicitado una habitación precaria por sencilla.

Al llevarme a la habitación asignada fue mayúscula mi sorpresa al ver que la habitación era más un cubículo, en el que un lado de la cama se encontraba pegado a una pared y en el otro lado solo había espacio para una mesa de noche. Frente a la puerta había un escritorio, que a falta de una mejor expresión era muy vintage o tenía mucho carácter, una silla plástica y en la pared sobre el escritorio el televisor. Junto al escritorio se encontraba el guardarropas que no me atreví a abrir.

Finalmente, el minúsculo baño con el lavabo, el inodoro y la ducha, minúsculo porque al pretender sentarme en el inodoro para verificar dimensiones no pude hacerlo de frente pues mis rodillas no tenían espacio suficiente o alguno para el caso. No creo que el espacio ocupado por todo el cubículo así descrito supere los 10 metros cuadrados pero no tuve la precaución de medir.

Al encender el televisor aumentan las tristezas, pues únicamente se pueden sintonizar canales regionales, dos nacionales y uno perteneciente a Discovery Networks.

Decidí apagar la televisión y ponerme a trabajar, cuando de repente se empiezan a escuchar los ruidos propios de un encuentro amoroso, procedentes de alguna de las dos habitaciones ubicadas en el mismo pasillo, ruidos que parecieran provenir de una pareja dentro de mi misma habitación pues se escuchaban muy fuerte, para darles un poco de privacidad decidí escuchar música con los audífonos puestos, pero a pesar de esta disminución del ruido de fondo se pudo notar que las actividades continuaron en varias ocasiones durante toda la noche, únicamente apunto esto pues sería bueno saber si es un hotel que alquila habitaciones por horas, y de esta manera sabremos los visitantes si estamos de acuerdo o no para buscar otras alternativas.

Finalmente el desayuno incluido es extremadamente básico: pan, huevo y bebida caliente, nada de fruta, queso o jugo.

Didn't have the room I booked online so they gave me a different one, except this room didn't have a door lock and the door window was broken meaning anyone could just walk in. Asked to switch me, and they did, except when I walked into the new room the blood stained sheets were stuffed into a closet, there were no pillows or covers and the bathroom was filthy.

The reception was rude and the place closes at night which means good luck if the security guard falls asleep.
