What a magical place! The Pacific Edge Eco Lodge is comfortable with stunning views of the mountains and The Pacific, in a perfect location. Sid and Micha are the ultimate hosts who are a great combination of relaxed, yet efficient. They are knowledgable and enthusiastic about the area and had close, convenient and spot on recommendations. Always readily available, they worked hard to make sure our stay was comfortable and fun. They helped us arrange tours, zipline excursions, an onsite massage, reservations at restaurants, surfing, etc... Sid is a talented chef and makes delicious cocktails in the evening and will make an incredible, made to order breakfast. (I had one of the best omelettes with air fried potatoes, fruit, and smoothie.) From our cabin, we heard Howler Monkeys and saw Toucans and multiple hummingbirds. (We even had a resident cat, Milo, visit us daily and keep us company.) The cabins are spacious with comfortable bedding and seating. We loved the hammock on our porch! There are multiple comfortable places around the lodge to sit and take in the beautiful sunsets. We spent a week there and will definitely be back!

Still Amazing After 30 Years The view, arguably the best on the southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica, is nothing short of stunning. Pacific Edge is where the mountains touch the ocean. Sweeping views of the highlands, thick valley jungle and beaches all the way to Manuel Antonio. Upon arrival, we were pleased to see that the original rustic wood cabins have been preserved. This traditional style of accommodation has mainly disappeared elsewhere in the Dominical area. The cabins boast super comfortable beds, good linens, hot water showers and a kitchenette. Sid and Michaelynn, the new owners as of two years ago, are enthusiastic, friendly and kind people who strived to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Sid was our own private breakfast chef. What a treat! The exquisite omelets, burritos, pancakes (and more!) were absolutely delicious. Bacon and sausages cooked to perfection. All accompanied by local fresh fruit and very good coffee. Pacific Edge is a don't miss.

Wish I could give this place more stars than 5. This is a little paradise and a beautiful oasis with the most stunning view and hospitality. You get to see various exotic birds, monkeys and more right on spot (both not in a bothering way, just around the property) , the food that Sid (who comes from the restaurant business) makes is better than any other that we had in Dominical, Manuel Antonio or Uvita, there is a relaxing pool and a porch with sun beds overlooking the coast AND the sorrounding mountains which gives you phenomenal sunrises . There are also two towers for even better view. New madrases in the cabin and it was never to hot inside. Coffee maker and a full kitchen with fridge, toaster etc. the owners are so helpful and adorable. Love love love it! Stayed all around Costa Rica and I tell you - it’s soo worth every penny!

For a special father/daughter adventure, we found Pacific Edge after seeing photos and reviews online, but as well all online experiences, they pale in comparison to the "in real life" experience. We arrived pretty late at night and were greeted by one of the owners, who actually got out of bed to welcome us and show us to our bungalow. Little did we know the magical experience that was to come over the following days of out stay.

The bungalows at Pacific Edge are more like what you'd imagine the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse to be like. You really get that safari feeling, you're "in" the jungle, feeling it's energy and experiencing the sounds, the life, the rains. It's truly special. And the views of the ocean... something you just have to experience to really understand.

The hosts really made us feel special and helped us arrange so many fun things to do. They have tons of connections in the area and there's no way we would have done all the amazing things we did without their knowledge and willingness to help. I really can't say enough about the owners to paint a proper picture of how awesome they were to us.

Later in our trip, we moved to another property, which was more your "typical" luxury hotel. All I can say is I truly missed being at Pacific Edge. I really just wanted to cancel the rest of our plans and just go back.

If the owners ever read this, thank you so much for the experience your gave me and...

We spent $700 on a reservation here, but because our flight got canceled due to hurricane ida we lost the money (since, I kid you not, AirBnb considers a hurricane to be a ‘foreseeable event’). We re-booked our flights for months from now and still wanted to book with Pacific Eco Lodge since it seemed great. After explaining our situation, the host offered a 10% discount (which, again, I don’t understand how a hurricane isn’t a valid enough reason to get a straightforward re-booking, but I was willing to pay almost full price again). After offering this ‘discount’, they never allowed me to book a reservation— saying they were “full” at the time (you could see on the Airbnb calendars and they calendars on their site they were not), lying about having tried to contact us and having left us voicemails yet never responding to my messages, etc. — all to avoid giving us a measly discount after we’d already thrown $700 non-refundable dollars their way. I would recommend spending your money with someone more honest and straightforward.

EDIT: minutes after posting this review they finally contacted me, saying they had attempted to send messages to me that never went through and that they couldn’t contact me because their phones lines were down (I have been trying to re-book for 5 weeks). They then offered me “holiday season pricing” of $50 more per night than the high season pricing listed on...

One truly feels like they are on the edge of the Pacific here nestled in this lush mountainside Oasis. Everywhere you turn, you are treated to a butterfly, plant, bird, monkey calls or sightings, the resident cat and dog, little loving and personal touches which have accumulated over the years. The panorama of sun, sky, sand and sea wraps you in it's embrace 24/7 .. always changing but always there. Beckoning you to sit back and enjoy from one of the many comfy brand-new teak lounges, bamboo couches, or swings... all locally handmade... or to head down the mountain to explore further. The cabins are indicative of the local environment and encourage both sustainability and homey comfort. The location affords convenience to a dizzying array natural wonders and man-made fun plus endless colorful cuisines in lovely outdoor/indoor settings. The love for Costa Rica is clearly evident in this Innkeeper family. They sell local items which directly benefit the indigenous artisans, as well as a line of jewelry designed and created on-site. You can prepare your own light meals in the efficiency kitchen, order in from a fabulous local eatery, bring something back from your excursion. They also offer a scrumptious fresh breakfast menu prepared to order and served in the outdoor "Rancho" patio area....
