Apartamentos Massai — Hotel in Cabo Velas

Loved this place and everything about it! Everyone was very nice and welcoming. The outside area is gorgeus, the pool and decor and animals! There was such a cute iguana there (I think, put a pic), frog on the wall by the pool every evening, and cute pets such as adorable parrot and turtle. The apartments are so spacious and clean. The kitchen is greatly equipped, with large fridge, microwave, oven, coffee machine, lots of pots and pans. There are a few vents and 2 airconditioning devices whick was more than enough to make the stay comfortable. Furthermore, all windows and balcony doors have a mosquito net. There is also a tv (cable I think but not sure since we only listened to music channel). Internet was good and the bad was comfortable. The balcony is great, we relaxed there almost every evening, having a drink and looking at beautiful lights around. The largest supermarket in the area is just a few steps away. They are a few decent places to eat nearby (like Shogun restaurant). For me, the best beach was the one 2 km away, playa Flamingo. Not really close, but still walkable. As my flight changed dates and I needed 2 more days where to stay, I chose Apt. Massai because it was next door to my original reservation. Location is OK if you are renting a car - 5 mins from Playa Flamingo, if walking it is 30 mins and there is no sidewalks in CR. My boyfriend and I did it, and it was not pleasant. Apart from that, the rooms were large and clean. I loved the fact that the room has a kitchenette - this was really convenient and I missed it when I moved next door (the boiling water, the coffee, or warming up of the leftovers). Service is OK, people in Costa Rica are very kind and relax, and I got help from Damaris when I asked for. I booked days here 8 weeks before our trip, and the day before we were to enter the location for our vacation, my 8-year-old son became very ill. We were not able to travel at that time, and I called the hotel immediately to let them know, the day before our reservation, and they said no problem we could change to the next weekend, and in writing agreed to the change, and for me to call the next day and confirm.
