Hotel y Restaurante Mar y Luna — Hotel in Golfito

I booked this place for one night and ended up staying three. The staff was very pleasant and helpful and most spoke English. I also ate at the restaurant and I definitely have to say the food was the best in town as well. I have stayed in many hotels in Golfito and this has the best "vacation" feel for the area. It is waterfront - the rooms are nice and clean (I stayed in a junior suite with kitchenette - room 14 - LOVED the view from that room!) I decided to give the place five stars for the Golfito area - as it hit ALL the things I wanted (and like I said - other places I have stayed in Golfito came up short on the "vacation" feel or the food or lack of food etc) its not a "big city" five star place - but its definitely five star for this area! I came alone (I needed to do some writing) and felt VERY safe there. Security is great, fenced in parking area and hotel area etc. I would recommend this place for singles, couples or families! We spent one night here and enjoyed both dinner and breakfast in the hotel's open air restaurant and bar. The team was incredible, so kind and so helpful. We are traveling by motorcycle and arrived just ahead of a rainstorm. We checked into and unloaded our gear at our room and then the employees moved their own motorcycles from a covered parking location so we could have it. In the morning I asked about the location of the local post office so I could mail some postcards before heading for the border to Panama and the hotel manager offered to take them for me if we were short on time. Everyone was so kind and genuinely interested in making our stay a relaxing one, albeit brief. Our room was clean and bright and had a fridge and English tv. I found the Hotel through a friend. The first thing that catches your eye is the restaurant, open, cozy and beautiful, with a huge deck that almost glides over the Golfo Dulce (Sweet Gulf). The breeze calms the hottest day, and you will surely enjoy the most delicious cold beer of your life. There is something about the humidity, the temperature and the breeze that just makes you want to drink a nice cold beer. ||||The seafood is fantastic, fresh and rich, and everything is made with a lot of love.
