This was my third time visiting Costa Rica, and without a doubt, our stay at Destino was my absolute favorite. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the breathtaking beauty of the property. Nestled in the hills with lush greenery and panoramic views, every morning felt like waking up in paradise.

One of the highlights was the fully stocked kitchen—it made such a difference to be able to cook and enjoy meals together without needing to run out constantly. Every detail was thought of, and the kitchen had everything we could need and more. Another rare luxury: hot water for showers was never an issue (something I’ve struggled with in other stays), and that comfort added to the feeling of being truly taken care of.

We were amazed at how few bugs there were—especially considering the tropical setting. It was clean, well-maintained, and peaceful beyond words. The privacy and tranquility were unmatched. We spent our days exploring and our evenings enjoying the beautiful private pool and even treated ourselves to massages on the deck one night—pure magic.

Location-wise, the villa was perfect. Just about 20-30 miles to all our excursions, it served as the ideal home base for adventure and relaxation alike. And then there’s Orlando, our host- truly the best there is! He was always available, incredibly responsive, and full of insider recommendations you’d never find just Googling. His warmth and attention to detail elevated the entire experience.

Our stay at Destino Hotel & Hot Springs exceeded all expectations. We escaped the busy tourist area near the beaches to find true luxury in this tranquil natural environment. We explored the surrounding countryside, villages, and attractions each day, then retreated to the comfort and beauty of our Villa. Magnificent sunsets each evening over the expansive canyons, carved by the river we could hear and see below, were thoroughly enjoyed as we soaked in our own private warm mineral water pools. There was even a path with stairs that led down through the trees and flowers to the river and a tiki-style picnic area. Tropical birds and wildlife thrive here too. The modern Italian-style kitchen in our Villa enabled us to enjoy the local fruit and vegetables and we even had fun shopping for groceries. With all the privacy in this seemingly remote location, it was amazing when we had a gourmet pizza and salads delivered to our door. The hospitality was spectacular. Our host couldn’t have been better at making us feel cared for and at home. He communicated perfectly and was always available for anything we needed. Our host Orlando was a standout — full of energy, warmth, and genuine hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble for him, and his passion for the place was contagious.||||The resort itself is beautifully designed with a rustic, charming aesthetic that blends effortlessly into the surrounding Costa Rican landscape. The grounds are thoughtfully landscaped, and the plunge pools and hot tubs outside the rooms added the perfect touch of comfort and relaxation.
