Cerere — Hotel in Limón

This place is the worst in town, we intended to stay there for a week but we cut our stay short because they lock us out and we had to sleep by the gate in our rental car. We went out the second night and the front desk attendant gave us a number and ask us to call if when we returned the gate was lock and it was, but NO one answered our calls the next morning they told us that this was the Guard second JOB, that he stayed in the front room to have quick access to the gate since it had to be open manually but that he was a heavy sleeping person and never heard the phone. I was so frustrated that a worker confided in me that it wasn't the first time that something like this happened she felt for my 2 years old, I was lucky that I was walking with my 6 years old at the time inhaler, if that is not enough they had a yard dog that got broken lose from his restrained and beat my husband after they finally open the gate in the morning, I was not upset with the dog he was the only one doing his job since he barked the entire night while we knocked on the door and yield for the guard. the owner was really dismissive....

I made a decision to sleep in Limon. Originally the place was downtown in what I felt was the seedy part if Limon. I found this little nook on Google. Was very close by. One has to travel a bit slow as the driveway was a bit hard to find. Met young lady who was able to offer a two bedroom. Now this is a little off the road hotel, one might see in a romance movie. Simple and quaint. Two beds, AC n small TV. A bano n shower. However it was this quaintness that made this charming, away from the noise of life. I awoke at 5am to witness morning sun rising from the Caribbean sea. From the patio the view is peaceful. In the morning a cute pool n hot tub. A local friend recommended this hotel and we paid 36.000 for two people which is over our budget but it was just one night. The water in the bathroom didn't run properly so we asked them to fix it and after that it sort of worked but not fully. There was no hot water which we're used to at cheaper places. There was only one outlet in the room and the pillowcase was broken which are details you notice at this price range. Normally we would get some money back for more than one issue but they didn't really care to compensate us at all.
