By far the worst place I have ever stayed in. Where do I start?… I’ll start with first impressions. Upon arrival I noticed the place was desperately in need of updating. The “lobby” chairs were disgusting to put it mildly, then there was a hiccup with my reservation and Expedia. Somehow the two systems are not communicating. There is no safe to store your belongings and apparently they are not responsible for any belongings that are lost/stolen. The hotel have two levels. After walking up a flight of stairs (the hotel does not have an elevator) I entered in a room that was mediocre. They could have bought better sheets from the goodwill. Next the “pillows” if that is what they call it, was nothing more than a hard rock in a pillow case. The mattresses were awful. The room and bathroom was tiny. There is a step to get in the bathroom and another one to get to the toilet. The towels were thin and stain. The shower pressure was good and warm water was provided. The cleaners did an excellent job and were thorough. They offer complementary breakfast, but not even free could get me to come back to stay or eat there. They offer the same monotonous breakfast day after day. It wouldn’t be so bad if the breakfast was actually good. Unseasoned rice and beans, white cheese, two slices of tomatoes, eggs and two slices of bread. Once we dared ask for another slice of bread and was charged 1000 crc for it (equivalent to $1.50). Let me not forget the one thin slice of papaya and pineapple. No condiments were provided at the table. The best feature of the hotel was the pool, but I did not use it. At checkout they come and inspected the room, counted the remote controls and towels. Overall, I would never recommend this place.||||Why did I stay once I saw the conditions of the hotel?.. Read moreThis hotel has a rustic tropical look. The ocean views are INCREDIBLE, the painted artwork near the pool is really a great touch! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The pool was sooo wonderful! We saw crabs calmly strolling along the rocks, tropical birds singing their songs above the property. It is truly breath taking! The food was delicioussssssssss and fresh! The staff cleaned our bathrooms and gave us fresh towels, as well as garbage bags.||||IMPORTANT NOTES: As soon as we arrived to our room, construction workers were still renovating and painting the building so they asked us permission to enter our room twice to finish painting. They were veryyy friendly but I didn't expect that lol. There was a lot of LOUD construction noises going on through out the daytime. The rooms need to be cleaned more often since they had a lot of dust on the shelves when we arrived. The staff was kind enough to lend us a broom. There were no landline telephones, no safes to keep valuables, no irons, no hair blow dryers. The bathroom showers definitely need renovation and in our kitchen there were no pots, pans, or utensils so we had to purchase our own. Also, there was a note on the bathroom wall that said we cannot flush toilet paper into the toilet.....with 2 parents and 2 kids that was intense! ||||Aside from those important notes, I...
