Ojochal Gardens Villas — Hotel in Puerto Cortés

The place smells moldy and makes you sneeze all the time. We lost electricity for 2 hours. AC didn’t work for 2 nights and we had a hard time sleeping. Hot water heater doesn’t always work. The pool is much smaller in person also. WiFi is very inconsistent and not suitable for working from home. They don’t make the breakfast on site. They work with a local chef which delivers the food and it arrives cold. They made a mistake with our food 5 out of the 6 days we stayed there. We would order eggs omelette style and receive scrambled eggs. One of the days they sent us breakfast without the eggs. The pancakes were inconsistent with thickness and sometimes they send 2 sometimes 3. On our last day we ate breakfast and left the hotel then all started to vomit and had diarrhea all day. Very bad experience but the staff and the manager Marianna were very kind. With all of these problems they gave us around $40 discount on the whole stay which I think is unfair. Not a great value...

The villas are nice with good bedroom and showroom facilities. There’s also a fridge and coffee machine.

The service was also friendly.

On arrival your first view is of a semi constructed building. And there is active work happening which generates some noise - the workers were there from around 0630 whilst I stayed. They were quieter earlier on however.

Breakfast is ordered the night before and service in your villa from a nearby restaurant.

I think making it clearer there is building work happening would be a good idea. I didn’t spend time by the pool and there were no views from the rooms. It’s well located for food options in Ojochal however and these are plentiful and...

Sarebbe una bella soluzione, le camere sono ben arredate per esempio, ma l'albergo non è finito. Sia il giardino che la hall sono un cantiere ancora aperto. Non esiste una sala per la colazione che viene portata in camera non sempre calda. Il caffè lo si deve fare nella macchina che è dentro la casa. Molti dettagli non sono curati come le zanzariere rotte e gli scarichi che non funzionano bene. Abbiamo dovuto cambiare stanza/appartamento perché il condizionatore gocciolava sul letto. Il prezzo quindi non è adeguato al servizio....
