We are a US family wrapping up a multi-day stay at Rancho Leon. We had a wonderful stay with our kids. The staff made us feel well taken care of. Great value and we would definitely return!|Breakfast was great, with a choice of fried or scrambled eggs, toast, gallo pinto, almost always fresh fruit, and freshly squeezed juice, along with good coffee. The wifi was strong and always reliable—even outside by the pool. When the AC unit in our room suddenly started dripping water, Laura had a tech in to fix it within an hour. Amazing!|For those without a car, reliable yellow buses bound for Quepos pass the stop in front every 30 minutes during busy times of day. The fare is 250 Colones. A taxi is 3000.|There is a large supermarket just down the street. There is no sidewalk.| The hotel restaurant is charming, but you pay a little more for the convenience, versus value options in Quepos.|Lucia went out of her way to point out a sloth high in a tree. All of us enjoyed the resident iguanas in the gardens around the pool. The pool was rarely crowded and Caleb will turn on the outdoor stereo for you. |Most of the guests were Tico and very polite and friendly.|The room is attractively painted but no-frills. We were given a comfortable suite/villa, with a big fridge, table and 4 chairs, coffee-maker and a loveseat. There are ceiling fans and cold a/c in the bedroom!|Many thanks to staff members Mirella and Caleb, who took such...

Rancho Leon was the best hotel value that we encountered on our recent road trip from the Guanacaste area down through the Osa Peninsula! The hotel location is super convenient, easy to find from the highway and just before Quepos. From highway 34, you will see signs leading you to the hotel once you are nearby. The hotel is located on the left hand side of the highway. ||||The hotel is so comfortable. The rooms are spacious and equipped with air conditioning. It has a beautiful large pool with a wet bar area. When we arrived, some local families were using the pool and the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. ||||The hotel staff was friendly, helpful and laid back. They allowed us to check out a little later than the scheduled time which we really appreciated! The hotel also allowed our dog to stay with us in the room. Our stay also included a delicious breakfast.||||This will be our go to place to stay the next time we are...

This hotel was a huge disappointment. Despite the high price, the facilities are outdated, and there’s a strong smell of mothballs. The shower is old and lacks hot water, which is really uncomfortable. The restaurant service closes early at 6 PM, leaving few options for dinner.

A man came to check the shower and wiped his hands on my towel, which was very unprofessional. When I requested new towels, I asked them to leave them at the front desk so I could pick them up on my way back. Since there was nothing to eat at the hotel, we went to find a restaurant but returned shortly to get transportation. To our shock, we found the receptionist and another man inside our room without our permission. This experience was completely unacceptable.
