I am feeling really sad after our last visit😢We both forgot our umbrellas which was an unfortunate mistake as the rain started coming down 30 mins after our arrival. The pools are barely warm in temperature which means it can get quite cold when the clouds roll in (I recommend bringing a sweater and def an umbrella!)
Anyhow, the rain did not ease up and my 9 month old baby was noticeably cold after getting out of the water. I had an idea to borrow one of their big table umbrellas to get us down the hill without getting soaked. We carried it to the car and then intended to drop it at reception- however it seemed that the family that owns this place thought we were trying to steal the umbrella. We shared that we simply borrowed it to keep our little ones from getting wet. An older man came to collect it from us and blurted out “You wouldn’t do this in America would you?!” I was quite shocked how much anger and prejudice was being thrown at us. Read moreWhat a beautiful place. Service was kind and simple. They have two rooms to rent. There were two of us and it was 30,000colones ($50 USD) with breakfast. You can pay by cash or SINPE. No credit cards. They also have a small soda that closes at 5pm with all the basic home cooked meals. The room was very clean with warm showers, towels and soap. After the pools closed at 5pm we had the entire place to ourselves! You can also hike down to the waterfalls and a non-developed hot springs as well. It is very tranquil and quiet at night with so much flora and...
Read moreThe “hot” springs are set in a lovely location and the facilities themselves are nice. Unfortunately, the pools are not natural but manmade structures. The water itself while warm, falls far short of being an actual hot spring. I guess my pet peeve is when businesses on Facebook fail to update their important information such as pricing. While the price is slightly higher than what is stated on Facebook, it needs in addition to mention that if you are not a Costa Rican resident, you will pay a considerably higher...
