Hotel Pacuare Turrialba & Tourist Information — Hotel in Santa Rosa

I HIGHLY recommend Hotel Pacuare. Communication with the proprietor, Juan Carlos, was EXCELLENT via WhatsApp. I stayed two nights in two different private rooms, enjoyed the use of the communal kitchen area, the pool, and the upstairs deck area with views of the surrounding areas. While this is not a "five-star hotel" (it is a hostel, not a hotel) it gets 5 stars for exceeding expectations in every way, other than location which gets only 4 stars because of the noise from the road. Ear plugs = good! :-) Otherwise the location just north of Turrialba is ideal, especially if you have a car (safe parking). BREAKFAST is AMAZING, and a great way to start either a day of exploring the local area or WHITEWATER RAFTING. Hotel Pacuare offers a package price for bed + breakfast + rafting that is an incredible value. Both the equipment and the river guide were top notch. If you area looking for a safe, welcoming, well appointed place to stay near Turrialba, this is it!! Thank you Juan Carlos (y todo su familia) for making our rafting trip so wonderful....

The building is new and the room is clean but really small with tiny bathrooms with sink and toilet are like one piece and no space to stand between them. In the morning, when I opened the faucet there is was very strong smell of sewer from the drain. But since I was checking out soon I didn't bother to tell the owner. There is a parking for your car in fenced roofed garage around the corner for free. Wifi signal is horrible in the room, probably you need to be closed to the reception to get good signal The breakfast is nice, cup of rice with black beans, fried plantain slice, cheese and an egg with coffee The owner is friendly and helpful and the room price is reasonable except being small size There is hammock to relax in the upper balcony and hanging seat in the lower balcony but we couldn't enjoy it, the weather was bad, windy, cold and rainy The owner run also your company, he can take you on raft trip in the river for about 2-3 hours cost...

Wegen der guten Bewertungen (4.7/ 49 Bewertungen) buchten wir für zwei Tage das Hotel Pacuare.

Carlos und seine Familie waren zwar freundlich, aber bei den meisten seiner Bewertungen handelt es sich leider um Fake Bewertungen!

Sie wurden vermutlich von Carlos Freunden geschrieben oder sie beziehen sich auf seinen Job als Guide.

Richtig ist, dass alles sauber war. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich. Auch das Frühstück war in Ordnung.

Preis: Die Unterkunft kostete 50$. Carlos sagte, es sei ein spezielles, gutes Angebot für uns. Wir haben leider erst später festgestellt, dass das Zimmer für die Gegebenheiten viel zu teuer war!

Unterkunft: Die Zimmer sind extrem klein. Man kann sich darin nicht aufhalten. Es gibt zum Bespiel keine Ablagen oder Regale um einen Laptop oder die Handys zu laden. Auch keinen Stuhl und keinen Tisch.

Im Raum steht ein TV, an dem Platz befindet sich aber keine Steckdose. Das Gerät blockiert nur viel Platz. Den großen Lüfter der im Raum steht, haben wir rausgestellt, damit wir uns im Raum überhaupt ein wenig bewegen konnten.

Im Bad befindet sich das Waschbecken direkt vor der Toilette. Deshalb kann man sich nur seitlich daneben stellen.

Lärm: Das größte Problem ist der unerträgliche Lärm. Er beginnt schon sehr früh am Morgen um kurz nach 4 Uhr.

Busse fahren direkt am Fenster vorbei. Motorräder und Autos mit kaputtem, lautem Auspuff hört man von morgens bis spät abends. (schau mein Video an)

Neben dem Hotel befindet sich eine große Blechhütte (Baustoffhandel). Große, laute Trucks liefern vor 6 Uhr (!) schon Baumaterial. Den ganzen Tag lang fahren ausserdem Handwerker mit Lastwagen am Haus vorbei um Material von diesem Baustoffhändler abzuholen.

Als wir in Carlos Hotel waren wurde bei dem Baustoffhändler auf dem Hof laut mit dem Hammer geschlagen und es bellten ständig Hunde. Die Aussenterrasse kann man deshalb nicht nutzen.

Beim Frühstück saß übrigens ein Pärchen aus Schweden neben uns. Es hat sich ebenfalls sehr über die Verhältnisse im Hotel geärgert.
