Hotel cibeles Resort — Hotel in Santiago

Tourists beware, if you decide to wash clothes here. These people will charge you an arm and a leg to wash clothes $6 American dollars per kilo. We had 2 small bags of clothes and when we picked up we got charged $102! ||In addition non of the electric outlets where working when we first got here. Hot water comes from an electric water heater in the shower which has wires hanging from the ceiling when you shower. Huge safety issue!||The beds are horrible and there is no air conditioner just portable fans. I woke up with back and neck pain.||If you end up getting two rooms in one “suite” in reality it is a living room which was converted into a bedroom. The room we stayed in required you to walk through a bedroom in order to get to the kitchen. ||I’m sure there are better places to stay. Don’t waste your money and please please please don’t have them wash your clothes unless you want to hand them an obscene amount of money for no reason. Find somewhere else to take care of...

This hotel is very sub-par and should not cost more that 32.00 per night. The water was cold, the television did not work, you were notified not to flush toilet paper down the toilet? Think about it. The clerks at the reception area were icy and disconnected. Around 6AM I heard loud banging and men talking loudly in the room next door as if there was a drug bust or raid. What went down I'm not sure as I did not dare look out. I'm very flexible especially when traveling in foreign countries and I'm very familiar with traveling in Costa Rica. The hotel looks nothing like in the pictures. It’s old, room smelt very musty, and beds have bed bugs. I am still suffering from severe itching from the bed bug bites after a month of being back home. Hotel is old, and not clean. I was just there in March 2023. The price is very expensive for what the place is. There was also a mattress that was in the garden outside of the room I stayed in, I didn’t realize at the time why it was out there, it was black around the edges & corners.
