This review is long overdue, but it has taken me several months to fully process just how life-changing my stay at LADE was. We rented out the entire villa for 4 nights in January 2025 to host our wedding with our closest family and friends. YES — the food, the staff, the rooms, the spa, the cleanliness — everything was truly five stars and beyond. It was, without a doubt, the nicest place I have ever stayed. But the real reason our wedding felt so magical is because of one person: Julia, the owner. I spent months searching for the perfect destination wedding venue, but the moment I met Julia, I knew this was it. The saying "when you know, you know" doesn't just apply to love! Starting almost a year before our wedding, Julia essentially became our wedding planner. She helped us with every vendor — the cake, DJ, photography, hair and makeup, florals, rentals — you name it. She handled every detail with intention, precision, and warmth. She made it a true "turn-key" wedding. Before I even had a chance to worry, Julia had a solution, and was always a text away on WhatsApp. She didn’t just help with the wedding day — she also coordinated our rehearsal dinner at a local beachside restaurant. She helped us find the venue, communicated with the restaurant, and arranged transportation for all our guests. Her care and attention extended far beyond what we could have imagined. The wedding day itself felt like a dream. The ceremony space overlooked a breathtaking view, surrounded by lush tropical flowers. Every detail was beautifully set up, creating an intimate and emotional atmosphere that supported our small guest list and made everything feel centered around love and connection. Not one thing went wrong. Truly — not one. But what really sets Julia apart is her presence. Throughout the weekend, she wasn’t just "on duty" because she owns the villa — she was present because she genuinely cared. She helped me put together welcome bags on the first night (even helping gather supplies from town). She sat with me during my hair and makeup trial, just to chat. And she was even included in a few photos from the night — because it felt natural. She had become a meaningful part of our celebration. I wasn’t the only one who felt that way. Every single guest commented on how amazing she was — attentive, calm, warm, and truly invested in our celebration. I also have to shout out the kitchen staff — every meal was delicious and beautifully presented. They handled multiple dietary restrictions with ease and even prepared a traditional Romanian dessert for our wedding night, which meant so much to us. If you are thinking about staying at LADE — for a wedding, vacation, or any special event — just know that you will be in the best of hands. We will cherish this experience forever.

My wife and I recently celebrated our wedding at Los Altos de Eros, and we couldn't have chosen a more perfect venue for our special day. From start to finish, the experience exceeded our expectations in every way. The hotel itself is stunning, with elegant decor and beautiful surroundings that provided a magical backdrop for our wedding photos. The attention to detail in every corner of the venue made our day feel truly luxurious. The lush surroundings and breathtaking views added an extra touch of romance that made our wedding day unforgettable. The food was absolutely divine! Our guests couldn't stop raving about the exquisite dishes prepared by the hotel's talented chef. Each course was a culinary delight, with flavors that were both sophisticated and comforting. The presentation was impeccable, and there was something to satisfy every palate. From the appetizers to the main courses and desserts, every dish was a masterpiece. The use of fresh, local ingredients added a special touch that made the dining experience even more memorable. The staff at Los Altos de Eros were exceptional. They went above and beyond to ensure that everything ran smoothly and that all of our guests were well taken care of. Their professionalism, warmth, and attentiveness made us feel like royalty throughout our stay. Special thanks to the event coordinator and owner-Julia, who was an absolute gem and helped us with every detail. Her expertise and dedication ensured that our wedding day was flawless. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, courteous, and genuinely committed to making our experience perfect. In addition to the wedding day itself, the accommodations at Los Altos de Eros were superb. Our suite was spacious, beautifully decorated, and offered stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The comfort and luxury of the room added to the overall experience, making our stay truly exceptional. Overall, our wedding at Los Altos de Eros was a dream come true. The venue, the food, and the incredible staff made it an unforgettable experience for us and our guests. We couldn't be happier with how everything turned out, and we highly recommend Los Altos de Eros to anyone looking for a perfect wedding venue. Thank you, Los Altos de Eros, for making our special day truly magical!

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon a couple of years ago (I’m finally getting caught up on reviews!). We loved it so much and hope to go back one day. We stayed in the detached king suite, which was lovely for privacy and had a great outdoor sitting area. The food was fantastic and the spa was even better. I think I got 3-4 massages in one week? Our favourite was lounging by the pool with some drinks. Only beer and wine is included, but that was just fine for us. There was tons of wildlife to see/hear and the grounds were beautiful. We also participated in the zip line and catamaran excursions. Both excellent. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier and more helpful. And Coco the dog was the best. The only negatives (and I use that term lightly) were really not that negative. Just things to consider. If you want to go into town and make use of the shuttle back, you can’t stay out that late. I think 8pm? But that worked fine for us. We also hiked a loop around the area with a map from the hotel, but it was WAY longer than we anticipated (our fault) and you really must take it seriously when they tell you not to do it midday. We had to turn back about 1/3 of the way because it was too hot and the bugs were insane. And as much as I loved the spa, it was the worst nail polish application experience of my life! I fully acknowledge I am picky about my polish though. Overall an excellent experience, and I’d recommend it to anyone who is looking for a luxury, peaceful, delicious vacation.

My wife and I recently celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary, and we had an unforgettable experience. We spent 9 nights at LADE, and from the very beginning—even before we arrived—we were impressed. I tend to ask a lot of questions ahead of time, and their customer service team responded more quickly and thoroughly than any resort we've ever stayed at.

The staff at LADE is phenomenal, much like the warm and welcoming people throughout Costa Rica, but the team here truly goes above and beyond to ensure you have the best possible stay.

We weren’t sure how we’d feel about the communal dining setup, but we ended up loving it. It gave us the opportunity to meet new people and made for a very enriching experience. That said, we also had days where we had the entire property to ourselves—perfect for a bit of quiet and romance.

We stayed in the Eros Suite, which was incredibly spacious and offered what we believe is the best view on the property. If it’s available, we highly recommend booking it. Guests staying in the Eros Suite or the detached King room also receive complimentary transportation for trips into town, which we found super convenient and made use of frequently.

The staff at LADE truly stands out—Ari and Josue took amazing care of us, ensuring every need was met. Javy and the kitchen team made every meal a delight. They are especially accommodating when it comes to dietary restrictions or personal preferences, always ready to offer alternatives. Snacks are also available throughout the day, which was a great touch.

We went on three excursions during our stay and loved every one of them. And then there’s the spa… absolutely incredible. Cexni and her team deliver one of the most serene and luxurious spa experiences we’ve ever had. We’ve had many massages while traveling, but this was the first time enjoying open-air treatments overlooking the jungle and ocean. It was pure bliss. We never felt overheated, even in the open-air setting. We did their full spa day—soaking tub, facial, and a 90-minute massage—and loved it so much we went back for more massages throughout the week. On our final visits, we even requested custom attention for our lower back areas, and they were more than happy to accommodate.

LADE is beautifully remote. The nearest town, Tamarindo, is about a 20–25 minute drive, which we made a few times during our stay. One fun highlight—something we never do on vacation—we decided to get tattoos! The artist came right to the property, and we were able to get our tattoos done on-site, which was such a unique and personal experience.

We also had the pleasure of meeting the owners, who live on the property. They were kind, accommodating, and genuinely cared about how we were enjoying our stay. They even recommended a great taco spot in Tamarindo and were the ones who let us know tattoos could be done on-site.

All in all, you will not be disappointed if you choose to stay at LADE. It’s an exceptional place run by exceptional people—and we’re already looking forward to coming back.

PS - If you love nature, you will love LADE as you will see monkeys in the nearby trees everyday. Some come really close and even on the roof of the property. You will also see other animals roaming around...
