Paradis apartments really is a paradise! The location is absolutely stunning with amazing views of the islands. We travelled as a couple and had one of the studio apartments. The modern apartment had everything we needed with air conditioning, a small kitchen area with fridge/freezer, a 2 ring hob, kettle, coffee machine and toaster. The apartment was cleaned daily with the beds made every day, fresh towels every day, the floors and bathroom was also cleaned daily to a very high standard. Every day we felt like we were walking into a new apartment. The apartment is very modern and newly furnished. The balcony area is lovely with an amazing view, a sunbed and table and chairs. The pool area is also lovely, quite a bit higher up than our apartment with even more stunning views. We discovered mid way through our weeks stay that the gardens beneath the pool area had a family of baby tortoises, so small we were scared we might tread on one. The family who own the apartments live in the house next to these gardens, the woman then came out and told us to look in one of the hedges. In the hedge was two kittens and she told us they were 6 weeks old! A great place to start for animal lovers! The family that owned the apartments were extremely friendly, greeted us with a drink on our arrival. Anything we needed they would sort for us. If we wanted to do any excursions they would let us know the best ones. They told us about a three island boat cruise which we did for only 200 kuna each (roughly £25 each) This was a full day boat trip with a plentiful lunch included and many amazing stops for snorkelling and sandy beaches. Just down from the apartments was a private bathing area where you can jump into the sea. A short 5 minute walk from the apartments is a stony beach with sunbeds for 25 kuna for the day. A beautiful place to go snorkelling with lots to see! There are also two very nice restaurants down by the sea front and overlooking the sea. We also hired a car for our stay so we could travel into Dubrovnik. This was a ten minute drive away. Parking was not cheap but it was definitely worth a few visits into Dubrovnik to see the old town and walk the walls. The stay was very relaxing and peaceful and I will definitely be coming back to...
Read moreWe stayed here for 10 nights in august. The apartments are situated in the most beautiful location just 6km from the old town. We had apartment 2 which is a refurbished studio with private balcony that sleeps 3. ||The views from the balcony are amazing so well worth ensuring you get a private balcony with sea views. ||The small kitchen area is adequately equipped with microwave, coffee machine etc...||They are cleaned everyday with fresh towels provided so everything is immaculate. You need to take beach towels.||There's a small pool and jacuzzi and sun beds on the terrace that again have amazing views. This area never got busy and most of the time we were on our own. ||There are 3 restaurants within walking distance but we only liked one called konoba veranda, it's number 1 for Dubrovnik on trip advisor so you need to book. ||There is a small supermarket 2kms away and as we had no car the owner took me down to get supplies, he did not charge for this. The prices are quite high compared to home. If you have a car it may be worth a trip to Lidl but it's near to the airport about 14kms away. ||Eating out is on a par with good restaurant prices in England so a 3 course meal costs about £35. ||Apart from the short walk to the restaurant there isn't anything or anywhere to walk to and there are steps everywhere! 200 to get to the private bathing area by the sea! ||The owners are really friendly and Jerko will take you in to town and back for 200 kuna. You can get a bus but you have to change so we didn't bother. ||The local beach is about 5 minute walk away and from here you can hire kayaks (150 kuna for 3 hours). We also took a boat trip on the Katerina from here which Jerko booked for us. This was 250 kuna each and went to 3 islands and included lunch and drinks. I'd recommend this. Most beaches are stoney and rocks sharp so take water shoes with you. ||To get from the airport we prebooked a transfer and paid £60 but if you email Jerko he will collect you for a fee. ||Thank you Jerko and Maria, your place is simply stunning and your hospitality is very...
Read moreWe had a wonderful week at the Paradis Apartment with our 3 kids (ages 9, 7, 7). Already dreaming about our next visit someday! We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment (one kid slept on the comfortable couch), with a small kitchen and bathroom, living room, and enormous private terrace overlooking the water and islands. The kitchen has all the basic cooking and eating utensils, fridge, stove, and coffee pot. The bathroom has a shower and washing machine. We were surprised that no toiletries (besides hand soap and dish soap) were provided, so we picked some up at the grocery store. We spent much of our time on the amazing terrace, eating meals, playing card games, watching the gorgeous sunset. After reading other reviews we rented a car and it was a good plan - we bought groceries from a store 10 mins away and went into Dubrovnik several times. But make it a compact car: the narrow and winding street to reach the hotel is the width of an alley, with cars parked on both sides. Our kids were happiest just hanging out at the public beach that’s a short walk down the road: they spent hours swimming and snorkeling, looking at colorful pebbles, spotting fish, taking breaks for gelato. It’s a great spot for kids - shallow, no real waves, lots of other kids, rocks to climb and pebbles to pick up, little fish to see. Bring water shoes for everyone, mats (seagrass or yoga style), and beach towels - the hotel only provides bath towels. We took a boat tour of the Elephanti Islands, which Jierko arranged for us - main perq is that it picks up right from the beach area. Jierko and Maria were very warm and helpful and made us feel welcome. A few suggestions to get a top rating: daily housekeeping (it seemed to be every 2-3 days), bigger and softer bath towels (they’re like hand towels made of sand paper), and basic toiletries. And they should accept credit cards! You’ll have to pay cash. But don’t hesitate to book this place - it’s a very comfortable home base, in a sweet little beach town, with million...
