Hotel Marina Selce — Hotel in Grad Crikvenica

This is a lovely small hotel within one hundred feet of the sea. We stayed three nights in August 2018. We booked the same day (that is, last minute) through TripAdvisor. Breakfast and parking were included. Breakfast, served from 7 am to 10 am was generous, with your choice of 3 types of eggs, meats, grilled vegetables, granola, breads, pastries, fruit, yogurts and much more. Our room was very clean, comfortable and well appointed, and of course, the view of the sea was spectacular! The front desk staff was friendly and extremely helpful. They not only were fluent in English, but we heard German and Italian often spoken as well. We spent two glorious days enjoying the hotel's beach umbrellas and chaise lounges (for a small additional charge each day, but well worth it). We also ate dinner twice at the hotel. The first night we devoured the grilled meat plate for two. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! The second evening we shared a delicate and delicious thin crust pizza. One word of advice: the Delphin bar accepts cash payment only (no cards). On rereading this review, it seems focused on the food, but our meals were part of the hotel experience. Excellent location. Fantastic sea view and vicinity of the property to the sea. The beach was amazing, the water is clean and wonderful. The staff is excellent - very friendly, helpful and kind. They attended to our requests extremely quickly and resolved issues professionally and fast. I was also happy with the cleanliness of the room. The biggest problem was the room air-conditioning, which was rubbish - it was blocked on 25 Celsius and the room was hot, with no fresh air. This was the only thing that could not be resolved during our stay and made my life miserable. Hotel is supposed to have air conditioning.. not in my experience. My room never dropped below 25 degrees C(75 F) and that was only in the middle of the night. I asked the front desk to have someone look at this but nothing changed. Additionally they have started charging for the use of the chairs and umbrellas next to the water which should be included in the room price for hotel guests. Additionally, the wi-fi is weak and did not reach past the entrance of my room. Overall the experience was positive but not as advertised for a 4 star hotel, hence...
