Hotel Katarina — Hotel in undefined

Hotel is good, clean. Rooms are spacious, new and clean. The personell is nice.|However, I find a few things that can be improved. Firstly, we arrived late in the evening which left us without a parking place so we had to manage and park on the street. Hotel offers a private parking, (which you can't reserve when booking), but the truth is there are so few parking spaces, you will probably have to park elswhere. Secondy, our booking had included wellness and couples massages which we didn't get while hotel was overbooked for the days we were staying, and the masseuse was overbooked too. We couldn't even book the massage for the next two days (which was all of our stay) and the ironic thing is they don't let you book in advance. I find this unacceptable, and regarding the fact that Katarina Hotel is a 4* hotel, thing such as overbooked masseuse is something they shouldn't allow to happen. In compensation for a 200 something kn massage, they promised us a free peeling we could use when in saunas. We did get the peeling, all tenth of a plastic cup which surely isn't the appropriate compensation... Extremely dissapointed! Regarding the saunas, the room is pretty small comparing with others 4* and less hotels, which made it crowded with people not respecting the rules in the relax zone (bringing in food, being loud, etc.) as well as in the saunas. While the behaviour of the guests is not hotel's fault, the staff is supposed to pay a bit more attention regarding what is happening in the wellness and keep some order. |Finally the hotel food is good, but again, they weren't prepaired for such overbooked weekend which reflected on the amount of the choices of the dishes and the...

It's a good hotel for vacation, the service is great. The beds are hard though. But we appreciate the fact that they had real covers in the beds. Air-condition was good. The view from the room was amazing. Location great. Six minutes walk to the beach. We didn't bother go to the pool are, the beach is better. The pool area is in another building, so you need to go across a street to get there. That's a little confusing I guess. We had breakfast and dinner included. It was a nice buffet, a lot of different dishes and beautiful buffet. Very good food! Also beer, wine and soft drinks are included. The coca Cola didn't taste like Cola though, and they don't have Earl Grey tea!!! That's so strange!! Who doesn't have the basic Earl Grey tea?! They did have other strange teas, like berry's and stuff.. Really not good. Coffee was fine. Bread was amazing. Beer and wine was good! Very nice and helpful staff. The cleaning was not so good though, un the room. It's was ok but really not much was cleaned. A plus for they did have Rituals products, like Schampo and conditioner and Bodylotion. I would have appreciated water bottles in the fridge, no water in the rooms. I think a 4 star hotel should have that for their guests. Warning, dogs are allowed totbhis hotel, and last day, we had a family in the room over us that had a dog, they left the dog in the room and it barked from 7am to 9am. Not acceptable! We couldn't sleep because of the dog. They should keep the "dog rooms" far away from other rooms....

We stayed at Hotel Katarina in September for 4 nights. It is a great time to stay in the hotel because it was not crowded at all. Our general experience was great.

Rooms - We stayed at the north facing rooms. They did not have the blacony and this was a major dowside for us since we didn't have a place to dry out our clothes from the pool. For us, booking a room with a balcony is a must. Other than rooms are very clean and the room service is very good and polite.

Food - We had both breakfast and dinner during our stay. Both are buffet style meals. There is a huge amount of options and meals you can arrange with the food for the day. The food is fresh, tasty and well prepared. If something is not to your liking, for example the eggs, you can ask the staff to make something a bit different for you. Everyone is very welcoming and very professional. Also, there is a tap beer, tap wine and 5-6 different types of juice.

The SPA - Everything in the SPA was included in the price. All their pools are filled with the sea water. The pool is heated as well as the jacuzzi. The pool was always clean, but short and not deep. It is good for light swim, but nothing more than that. They have 2 Finnish saunas and one steam sauna, one on 60-70 °C and the other one on 80-90°C. The steam one is from 50-65 °C. Spa experience was very good as well.
