Kis Residence — Hotel in Grad Korčula

5* plus. Our hosts Denni & Valeka, (apologies for the incorrect spelling) were very friendly & couldn’t do enough for us, (my wife & 2 adult children). The accommodation was spotless very comfortable, with plenty of space. The shared facilities, swimming pool, sun loungers & covered seating area were exceptional & available, no need to rush down to claim a sun bed. Conversation in English was a pleasure. A good choice for breakfast, if you wanted mix & match what was on the menu this was was not a problem. Denni’s home made wine was some the best I’ve tasted I advise, do not drive after. Our hosts recommended places to visit & organised transport for us. There are 2 small beech side restaurants within walking distance, the closest a 5 min walk down the hill the Marco Polo was a nice place to relax & have a drink, the food was delicious, & they managed to sort a table for us on the occasions we hadn’t booked. There are several places/beeches within walking distance with stunning views, I’ve never seen sea water so clear. Unable to tick the apartment ratings, therefore commenting here 5* for service cleanliness & value. We stayed here for 8 or so nights in September 2023. I was pregnant and haven’t had a chance to review so we were timed out of booking.com. This property is NOT 4 STAR. It is 3 at best. I actually wonder whether many of their reviews are genuine. There is a bit of cat-fishing going on with their photos.

Pool area is nice, rooms lack any character and feel like hospital rooms. Breakfast produce was unfortunately a tad stingy and fruit was not fresh / flavourful. Just overall underwhelming. Staff at breakfast often spoke loudly to each other and ruined atmosphere, the lack of music didn’t help. We found our waiter quite rude and have various examples that really stick with us that aren’t worth listing here. We have a laugh now. We made the best of our stay on the island and spent our money elsewhere. We stayed for 2 weeks at the end of August. The apartment was comfortable and clean with a stunning sea view from the balcony. The hosts Veselka and Dami were very friendly and entertaining and made us feel really welcome. Katarina (Kate) our breakfast waitress was delightful and made us laugh every morning, as she served us tasty treats to start the day - she is a real star! Dami was incredibly generous with his home made wine, raki and cured meats, which were all delicious. The pool was lovely and bigger than it looks on the website pictures and it was lovely to relax in the evening in the covered area next to the pool. Kneze was a brilliant place to stay and we swam each morning in the crystal clear waters which were only 5 minutes walk down the hill.
