hotel "NOSTROMO" — Hotel in Grad Labin

Hotel has good partial sea views from balcony rooms. The beds are comfortable and bedroom and bathroom clean but lacking a fridge. Breakfast disappointing as only cold meats/cheese etc. available and cold hard boiled eggs occasionally. Fruit was requested and one orange produced and some water melon one day. Thestaff were polite bot mine host was rather gruff. We planned to eat here once for dinner as it was considerably more expensive than others around. Apparently this is because it is higher rated restaurantwise but we were told it wasn't that great and overpriced by people that had eaten there so we never did.|All in all a decent hotel and fairly priced but needs to be more welcoming and up it's game at...

As I wrote before you will be challenged to find a good restaurant in Rabac. Let's face it, it is a nice place but because it is only seasonal you will get pretty much only food fit for the average tourist taste. Most places lack the will or ability to improve. Nostromo in my opinion is an exception. They try to get the fresh ingredients at the market every morning. They work hard at pleasing you. They are pretty good with the clams and mussels, with the risottoes and do a pretty decent fish. On the pasta side could use some improvement but overall it is the best in a 20 mile radius. Stayed 2 nights in May 2012. Small family run hotel. well appointed cosy rooms, ours had a small balcony and partial bay views. Wi-fi only in the restaurant, walking distance to all the village has to offer, car parking could be a problem is peak season. Excellent restaurant, good menu, we enjoyed baked fish both nights, waiting staff very knowledgeable in local wines, also in presenting the fish with few bones.
