I don't usually review but i had a horrible experience with upper management i thought everyone should be aware of this. I organized my wedding reception at this place. At first it seemed like a fairy tale. The hotel is beautiful. I was offered three menus. First and foremost sign contracts for every little detail including table cloths before paying anything. Moving on, the menus were fine, I was offered the payment options of 30% deposit to save the date, 30% payment 15 days prior and 40%after the wedding. The hotel initially was willing to work with you in regards to Hall arrangements. However upon coming close to the wedding and last week of preparation I was unable to move certain tables closer to the band so that my guest would hear, response from the hotel "unable we don't do that here like that" I attempted to move the band 2 meters to the left, same response. We are 4 days away from the wedding. Coming closer, the hotel management, more specifically the director Matea Jeric, who is extremely young and whose dad owns the hotel, requested for me to pay 90 percent of the wedding saying if I don't I won't have a wedding, I felt like I was being blackmailed. I really did. On multiple occasions I attempted to speak to the director but she was always busy, she seemed to be available to sign paperwork but she was unable to come out and speak to us. I'm inclined to believe that she was embarrassed due to the fact how she treated us. The hotel staff is very friendly but they're unable to do anything without running it by her. For example, rearranging 4 tables. Needless to say I had to pay the 90% before my wedding even though I had all the offer paperwork, blackmail, knowing I came from the states and that I had no other option. The hotel, really needs a restructure on the top level to be anything good. They claim to be a 5 star hotel, when in reality it is a 3, even local vendors such as my Vila landlords, dj, etc. Knew about this director and had a few things to say. I urge you to research before staying at this hotel. It is a good distance from the beach, and from what I noticed they seem to cater to the elderly fairly often, I noticed that they get bused in and their guests are compromised of elderly tour groups. I gave it a two due to the fact that the wedding turned out OK, but I have to tell you, please don't get suckered into this, especially if you're planning a wedding or event. It's either the directors way or the highway and you will lose your deposit. For the same or close to the same amount of money I could have stayed at a real five star hotel and would not have gone through this headache and sleepless nights. Be aware!
PS i had friends stay there, 1 couple and 1 friend, they requested and received a bedroom with twin beds. The hotel made them pay 50 extra euros for a roll bed due to the fact there is 3 individuals. Where the couple of course would share a bed. The hotel threatened to call the police on them if they did not pay this...
Read moreHotel Solin is a pleasant enough Hotel, the staff are lovely and the beds are comfortable. However, myself and my partner were a little underwhelmed during our stay there, considering it’s a 5 star hotel.
Pros ——-
Good sized, well air-conditioned en suite.
Decent pools, one indoor
Spa/Treatment area (surcharged)
Very good parking (if you’re lucky), it’s right outside the door of the hotel but fiercely contested by other guests.
Friendly staff
20 mins to/from airport
10/15 mins to Diocletian’s palace
Short walk to minimarket
Cons ——-
No-where near enough loungers when hotel is at or near capacity (maybe 10?)
Room service does not take orders after dinner service ends, not great if you’ve been out all day and come back expecting to eat. The menu in our room said ‘24hrs’ but this is not the case. (We ordered food to the hotel).
Hotel restaurant very limited and price incredibly inflated compared to local restaurants (even the fine-dining ones), €35 for a hamburger is nuts in any country. Breakfast buffet gets dull after a few days as it does not have any alterations throughout the week.
Nothing felt ‘luxurious’. Even the towels were old and rough.
There’s a large (loud) building project taking place next to the pool.
The pool-side parasols don’t fit their stands, so spin around in the wind and leave you in the sun constantly
Conclusion
The hotel is having a bit of an identity crisis, it looks like a 5-star at first glance but lacks anything special and certainly doesn’t justify the cost. I would not recommend staying here for a week, maybe 2 nights if you need a comfy bed and don’t plan on eating there.

Read moreI stayed at this hotel twice, first for 3 days in winter and then for 7 days in summer. While it claims to be 5 stars, I found that it did not fully meet those expectations.
The hotel has two beautiful pools and a stunning reception and lobby. The reception staff are lovely and very welcoming, which was a highlight of our stay.
However, the restaurant was disappointing. Vegetarian options are very limited, mostly pasta, and the servers often seemed unfriendly or unwelcoming, though this might be cultural. Prices are high for what you get; for example, a risotto costing around 25 euros can be found for 15 euros at a nearby Italian restaurant.
The rooms are spacious, but there are some issues. The shower pressure is weak, making it difficult to fill the hot tub, and hot water can run out quickly during peak times, around 7 pm. Additionally, housekeeping was inconsistent. Sometimes we only had one towel for two guests, shower cup boxes were empty, and the sauna was not working when we arrived. The rooms also lack modern conveniences like a smart TV or a coffee maker. The only coffee provided is instant, which is not suitable for those with dietary restrictions.
Regarding the pools, they are very nice, but service was slow. Orders were often forgotten or delayed. Billing seemed inconsistent, sometimes asking for payment before finishing, other times taking hours to charge.
Finally, the hotel’s location is somewhat isolated, which limits nearby activities. While the facilities are okay, they may not justify the premium price for a...
