This hotel is located in a calm bay area has a nice lovely ocean view from the balcony’s in the rooms. Staff is really polite and helpful, however our stay here for two nights was not so great.||We booked a room through Hotels.com and arrived early in the morning. Staff was friendly and told us the room would be ready in about 30 min.||We went out for breakfast and got back to check in, the room was at first very nice. It felt modern and the view was breathtaking.||After a day out on the beach we got back to our room around 18:00 and now the restaurant located next door had opened and opening the door to our room we’re faced with a smell like the went from their kitchen went right in to our room, that made the room feel very unpleasant.||The noice from the restaurant is also quite high banging from the kitchen moving chairs and loud Italian music. This we did not mind as we were watching tv until around 11:00. But when we tried to sleep this was unbearable. Talking to the front desk they told us everything was booked and changing rooms was not an option. But the restaurant would close in 45 min, reassured by the staff we returned to our room and waited...||The restaurant closed 70 minutes later, the noice was loud until ~02:00 when staff closed up snd went home loud music and loud noises. So not a great nights sleep.||This is an issue staff is aware of and they told us the room was going to be decommissioned at the end of the year due to a large amount of complaints from guests.||The annoying part is that the staff claimed to have made a disclosure that the room had these issues on the booking site but no such disclaimers were made on Hotels.com or in the confirmation email we got. ||So a great hotel but if you choose to stay here for your vacation make sure not to book or accept room #1 when...
Read moreStayed here last week for 7 nights. Brand new (hence the lack of reviews) but could not be faulted. As we checked in after dark it was hard to grasp the views and location but upon sunrise the next day both of these became spectacular. Huge balcony with an unspoiled view of the ocean really did make this place worth every penny. The rooms are linked to a hostel, which had closed for the season, so I think there may be a shared kitchen area during on-season. Please be aware, they are just rooms - lovely rooms, but just rooms nonetheless. There is no cutlery, no kettle or anything that allows you to cook or eat. This wasn't a problem for us as there is a supermarket underneath the complex and numerous restaurants within 5 mins walking distance but I would not advise coming here if you are expecting the usual self-catering set up.||Stobrec itself is very small. A good number of cafe bars and restaurants that I imagine are very busy in the summer months but we had a nightmare finding anywhere that did breakfast until the penultimate day of our holiday. Whether this is different in the busier months I'm not sure but if you visit out of season then be prepared to struggle to find anywhere serving food before midday.||We walked into Split a couple of times - takes about 90 mins at a good pace although most of this is walking up the side of the motorway so not particularly scenic. However there are good bus links and you should take the number 25 which runs every couple of hours and only takes about 15 minutes. Costs about £1.50 each way.||Split itself is beautiful - highly recommended. Densely populated with tiny bars and restaurants on the harbour and within the walls of the old palace.||Would definitely return...
Read moreI really enjoyed my stay here. The room was nice & the view was amazing. Beach was less then 2 mins walk. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and everything was fine.||Check-in was quick & easy which was appreciated as we were up since 2 AM to travel and didnt get to the hotel until 12 pm. Normal check-in time is 14:30 but the staff let us checked in early.||The hotel is not in Split but you can go to the Old Town by bus - cost 13kn pp each way. ||However, the walls are quite thin and the soundproof is not very good. One night, there was a singing event at the park nearby the hotel (about 5-10 mins away) which went on until 12 am. We could hear the singing quite loud. We could also hear the people above us walking around on a daily basis. It bothered me sometimes but its not a major problem.||We also found the plugs a but difficult to use. With the UK to EU adpater, we had to play around with the plug for a bit until it stays plugged. We can hear the room next door when they try to plug in as well. ||Besides, there is no blankets - just 2 pieces of very thin sheets but we managed. One day, we went out for a whole day for an excursion and when we returned at 8 pm, the room was not cleaned or made up. It was because we didnt put the sign out for the room attendance. We had to ask reception for clean towels. Daily room service would be better. ||Overall, it was a good hotel and i really enjoyed my time here. There are areas to be improved but i would...
