It’s a nice hotel located in Varaždin Kolodvorska Ulica, close to the Varaždin railway station. The building is very nice outside thanks to its attractive architectural design. Also inside is cosy and finely decorated.||The room which was allocated to me is nice and comfortable, especially the bed whose mattress is tough enough and thus adequate for people suffering from back problems. The only drawback is that there is not an adequate light for reading or writingon the table. I asked for one but the only things which were handed to me were odd lamps rather to be installed outside than to be placed on a working desk. Apart from that everything was all right: the room was rather calm and I had no disturbances impeding me from having a good rest. Besides the wifi worked well in that room. ||The staff members are very kind and helpful. They are always ready to assist the customers and give them the most appropriate advice also on the most interesting places to visit in the city and the best way to betake oneself to each one of them. If necessary they take the customers’ luggage up to the room or downstairs from it. They are very polite.||The breakfast is good and varied. One may have it at the hotel restaurant, which is a well decorated premises with arches and walls showing the bricks of which they are made. It’s indeed an original décor. The furniture in it is very smart. As regards other meals in that restaurant, the menu doesn’t actually include healthy dishes. They are rather fat and heavy. Therefore the ones suffering from gastric troubles would better keep away from that restaurant.||The hotel is therefore in general a recommendable place to stay. Walking from it to the historical city center is a nice promenade from which one may...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel for a couple of days while in the city to attend the Trash Film Festival. I highly recommend the hotel. I arrived after 3am, and the hotel is literally a stones throw from the railway station. The staff were polite and helped me check in despite the late hour. I was told Breakfast would be available from 7am until 9am, which was true. It was a simple buffet breakfast with meats and cheeses and some cooked sausage and bacon and scrambled eggs. A selection of teas, coffee and juices, with yoghurt also.
The room was air conditioned, with windows which opened. There was a TV, excellent wifi, a shower with excellent pressure. I found the bed to be very comfortable. There was also a refridgerated minibar.
If, like me, you felt like sleeping late then the cafe / resto on the terrace was more than adequate to get a coffee and a snack before you go out to explore the town. The old town centre is perhaps a 15 minute leisurely walk away, ten minutes if you aren't so leisurely.
There is a little market store facing the hotel also.
By far my highest praise goes to staff, who were exceedingly friendly and conversant in English. When I had to check out in the middle of the night to make a 3am train, the staff put together a travelling breakfast pack for me, which was so incredibly thoughtful. I felt very well taken care of.
To whomever owns/runs this hotel, you should be incredibly proud of the staff...
