The location is perfect with a lovely little town nearby. We went during preseason so everything was quiet and mostly shut (we didn’t mind this). The hotel is nice with mostly very friendly staff. The rooms are nice but we had a few issues; the older hotel, hotel Olympia has less expensive rooms with much nicer balconies. When we booked, it stated that hotel guests of Olympia sky would have access to additional facilities to reflect the price - this was not the case and people who were not even guests were able to access things such as the infinity pool. We were left wondering why we had paid so much more for the same facilities and services. I raised this with jet2 but of course they weren’t interested. ||We enjoyed the food but the service was poor - there were some staff members who were lovely (katina was great) and some that were not great. We were not able to order tap water despite drinking this the whole holiday, we ended up paying nearly 100 euros for water throughout our stay as a result of dinner. Getting a drink was a very difficult task and my partner was constantly having to get up and chase waiters. Towards the end of the holiday, we gave up trying to get drinks at all with dinner. One evening, there was a group of people all stood waiting to individually complain about the service. ||The rooms were very nice but had everything you would expect with little additional things to justify the price. We were told we would have a double bed but this was two singles pushed together with two separate duvets. A coffee machine and mini bar but we didn’t dare use anything due to the additional prices. There was very loud music from the beach bar that went on until very late and the bass could be felt for hours. Room cleaning only ran early morning and as we chose the later breakfast, this meant we were only able to have our room cleaned once! ||The spa was nice but had a bit of a funky smell! The massage was amazing, I was asleep almost instantly! The pool was also nice with a lot of seating so this was never an issue. ||Overall, we would come back but the issues around service at dinner had been raised several times and doesn’t seem to have...
Read moreOn arrival you receive a wristband which is for show only and you don’t need it for anything. Guests quickly remove them. The sea view rooms are a good size with a nice shower but have no room kettle and they overlook the public Hangar Beach. Music and noise is non stop under your room from morning until the following morning hours from bars, slot machines and snack bars so there is no enjoyment of balcony or sleep. Avoid sea view unless you love being out until early morning yourself. The pool area is competitive for seats but crucially anyone can enter the pool area from the beach as entrance to this area is open completely and the one security guard in the huge area has no way of knowing who is who. General public can access the two hotel lifts from this area to all the room corridors and the infinity pool which is advertised as exclusive for Sky guests and no one checks or cares. No room card is required to move the lift. I do not think the hotel have thought through the security risk and issues this creates as they have no way of knowing who is in their hotel. Vodice itself is pleasant but unremarkable with no historic landmarks to boast. Two trips are available to Krka and Plitvice. There is one car rental in the town which is expensive as no other car rental company delivers to Vodice. Rent a car from Split airport is my advice as you will quickly want to see more than just Vodice which in my view is largely a short break retreat for local people in the region. Food is good in the town and superior to the hotel’s Sky restaurant where we ate once and found it average at best. If you still want to come here then stay in the Olympia not the sky as they have the same breakfast and pool facilities and on check out I was puzzled as to what we had paid the extra money for. I would happily pass through Vodice again but I will not be staying at the Olympia sky. Being myself of Croatian heritage I really wanted to rate this hotel much better but an honest review is more important. This hotel needs a different...
Read moreFirst time here but I will NOT be returning!|The islands are absolutely stunning.. like picturesque scenery. The food is average..they just like their pastries. They are a very religious country and especially where i was staying they judge anyone who is different. They treat tourists different how they treat their own. They seem very laid back, so laid back like they don't care. Yet the locals and people who live there are complete an utter rude and abrupt| |Here are a few bad things I experienced on my trip.|[ ] No tea bags or kettle in room and when asked they told me they don't supply tea in rooms and I have to pay for it. |[ ] Location is in the middle of nowhere (10mins to the latest bustop)|[ ] Bus driver when I went to get the bus slammed his door in my face twice. |[ ] A nightmare around the hotel when they had conferences on which in winter term off season was mostly evey few days.|[ ] Denied water unless you pay for it. Complimentary water is a one time thing. ||[ ] Ordered drink and food at the sky bar (aria bar) and took 45 mins to arrive. Had to wait around and didn't take payment. Delay with everything. No rush for anything. Too laid back |[ ] Last night of my stay I came down for dinner as I had a massage late at the spa which to say the least was an €84 of disappointment. I arrived at the restaurant 10 mins before they were closing and tried to grab the food that is left. I grabbed only 1 plate as by the time I sat down they took all the hot food off as it was 9pm. Yet at breakfast when people arrive past the closing time they allow the guests to eat the food and keep the hot food buffet out longer. I was rushed to have my dinner which I was not happy about and not 1 server came to ask my drinks order...I had to go up and ask which is still poor customer service. Last thing I needed after a relaxing spa massage was to be rushed. ||Not my best first time experience of croatia....
