In short price vs value it's almost terrible. With inflation and current situation they increased price a lot without changing anything (as everywhere in world but that doesn't mean that we should pay more just because someone told us and not improving anything from their side).
PARKING - there is ~50-70 places in front of hotel (there is a need for 200+ cars) so you need to pay 9eur per day and then they take your car and drive on open road (2.5km from hotel because there is more parking space which is built) - so my recommendation is that you don't give them keys and drive yourself ur car to that parking space - bcs of car insurance you can have problem. Anyhow whole parking organization is super terrible (even everyone in parking team they think they are doing amazing job and thex are very proud of it), never seen before for not so cheap parking of 9eur per day. When you checkout you cannot stay there without paying difference in hours (and it's 4eur per hour!). Note: parking guys are also accepting 20eur to put your car in good place (I didn't gave them, but I know their language so I heard what their conversation) ROOMs - toilet doors are almost impossible to lock and without locking doors are opening but ok probably they would fix it if we told them so. Cleaning lady is always folding sheet in way to connect of top and bottom together (feet and head part). You cannot connect your Netflix on their TV because they forbid this option. Everything else is okeish, also previously mentioned room things are my personal preference and maybe for you are ok. BREAKFAST & DINNER time- I need to say the food is nice and you will not be hungry, it's not amazing but it's pretty nice. But, place where you eat it's terribly noisy, it was heavy raining and water was just dripping out of AC devices. And one more thing, ok drinks are not included into price, but when you buy something for drink hotel is also charging you service charge (see invoice attached - 10%). Ah yes, quality of breakfast drinks is ridiculous.. no words to describe it
ELEVATOR(s)- this is almost terrible as parking, hotel is probably 90% full and there is only one elevator which is working (super slow, and not so space inside) and usually there is always people with childrens, luggage, so tbh it's unusable in 80-90% of time. And there is in total 5 floors plus you need to take good amount of stairs from beach. So yeah, be prepared, be in shape 😂 BEACH towels - for this price you would expect to have beach towel but no, and ok it's was written that the are not having this but then on balcony I would expect something bigger to hang my towels but no, there is only one grill where you hang your swimsuit in the best scenario. sun beds - in Croatia this seems like rocket science, but again for this price you would expect to have these and not that hotel or whoever in front of hotel they are charging your 20e per one
Overall, as usually in Croatia, nature is super nice, water is super clean but accomodation has never been improved while for price, you cannot say the same. And one tip for hotel management, it's not just enough to reply on review of your guests, it's also important to improve your service, and you are unfortunately not doing this as I was here 2 years ago (nothing is changed), but also the same can be seen from other reviews and people who visited multiple hotels.
Edit after reply: I totally understand that there is no space, but then you communicate this clearly to your guests, and statement about many hotels doing the same, tbh I wouldn't say so as many people in comments have same opinion, either we don't visit those other hotels or we are saying always at yours. Anyhow good luck in changing...
Read moreFirst things first: Brela is a nice place and the hotel has a good location (like all old hotels), so 5* here, our room was extremely small, but renovated and nice the hotel is a bunch of old communist concrete but renovated buildings and associated loud industrial cantine as it is a bunch of 3 buildings on different levels, you should be fit, otherwise if you have kids and a buggy, good luck to get an elevator as we've arrived at our luxury 23m2 ! "penthouse" for 4 persons, the thermometer was showing 28 degrees in the room, so switched the A/C on, after 2 hours it was 26 degrees. A/C was running nearly non stop during our stay, but we never got below 23 as it is just too weak parking costs additional 8eur/day - if you think, you have a parking spot for the price, you're wrong, no place to park, so cars standing literally everywhere there is a problem between the municipality and the hotels, where hotels charge 8eur/day for parking, municipality 4eur/ hour !, but same entrance. So if you drive out few minutes after checkout, you will have to pay the municipality, but as you have entered for a hotel, there is no way to pay, so you get ping-ponged between the car entrance and the hotel reception. But hey !, you payed only 380e/night so you need to sacrifice something. food was ok, but cantine is just full, full, mega loud with bad organization it was so full, that if you were queuing, it took you easily 5-10mins and before it was your turn, your food was often already gone. You have queues for everything, from food through coffee up to ice cream breakfast is only till 10am, so imagine how a cramped loud concrete cantine full with families and kids looks like just before 10am halfboard means you pay for drinks, e.g. small cola 4eur if you are allergic, or have food intolerances, there are no signs anywhere, at reception we were told to find and talk to the chef - good luck with that in a full cantine the building C is organized as a prison, in the middle is a plastic roof trying to shed light from the roof, but as it is made of plastic and a/c is weak, it's like 30 degrees everywhere lunch is not offered, so you go out: Most restaurants are cash only and offering since decades the same: pizza, pleskjavica/cevapcici and fish.
All in all: Every like 5 years we drive to Croatia only to find out, that it's unfortunately not worth the high price anymore. I don't know, when a 4* hotel stops being a 4* just because of the sheer amount of people - you kind of pay for free range, but it's cage breeding. Nice spot, but...
Read moreIt was last minute booked holiday for us. We usually book 45 hotels. We booked this 3* hotel because of beachfront location and seaview. We had superior room - which was quite large. We arrived late, there was food in a room waiting for us - which was a nice gesture from the hotel. The food was tasty - as at 4* hotel. I loved the cabbage salad there. My daughter enjoyed pancakes during the breakfast. Good choice of vegetables. We loved our room with a seaview. There was no tea/coffee facility, but you can ask bar for boiled water in a thermos. The beach near hotel is very clean and nice - we loved it. There also was a kids playground and sports ground next to hotel on the way to the beach. There is no much entertainment at the hotel itself, but check with receptionist whats on at their two nearby 4* hotels, as at a little cost you could use neighbour hotels spa and outdoor indoor facilities, as well as free entertainment ( live music, quiz night, kids activities). Highly recommend to visit Punta Rata restaurant for lunch or dinner: food there is just amazing, cooked with love, superior service - this place has to have Michelin stars. We had lunch at Timun bar, Blusun Hotel Soline which is just few steps from the beach and 4min walk from Hotel Marine They serve 5* coffees there, freshly squeezed orange juice, salads and food is fresh and tasty, picolo salad and cheesecake was our favourite. 5 star service and delicious food with seaview. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Once we had a problem at the hotel, it was resolved imediatelly by hotel management. Short walking distance to town, shops, cafes. Highly recommend the hotel and the...
