This review refers to the restaurant only, we have no experience with staying in the hotel. We visited the restaurant one afternoon in August and the place was crowded. A waiter helped us with finding a suitable table and the ordering process was OK. Our meals arrived after 20 minutes and the quality and taste were a good average. We noticed that the food in the restaurant is generally on the heavy side, with large portions and lots of meat. Up to that point the service was acceptable but afterwards very disappointing. We waited very long until the table was cleaned and therefore also used the opportunity to ask for the bill. It took half an hour and several interventions until the bill eventually arrived. As I asked the waiter why we had to wait so long there were only excuses but no apology. When I told him that because of that I could give him only a small tip he did not seem to care and commented: "There will be other tips in...
Read moreThe stuff was disgustingly rude!! I have never had such an awful experience in my life. One of the older waiters (gray hair, wearing a light uniform, not the guy with the mustache) was the worst of them all, making us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable every chance he got! One day I went to the restaurant during the day to buy some water as I did every day. As he was standing next to the fridge but was busy I said with a smile "no worries, I can get it myself". He slammed his hand on the fridge and said "this is not self service" as if he was speaking to a criminal rather than a guest spending £400 in the hotel on top of paying for dinner every evening!!! We then found a nail in our hamburger which, had we not noticed it we would've ended up at the hospital, and they were barely apologetic and seemed bothered by the fact that we mentioned it. The waiter wearing a black uniform was the only decent person in the...
Read moreTwo weeks at Riviera and I'm still wondering how I didn’t roll out of there like a meatball! Every single day I tried something new – and every single dish was a home run. From starters to desserts, it was like my taste buds were on a first-class vacation.
But the real MVP? Vladan. By now, he's less "waiter" and more "culinary co-conspirator." I threw down a challenge at the start of my stay – and guess what? He absolutely crushed it. No spoilers, but let’s just say the man delivers under pressure like a Balkan James Bond (with a tray instead of a gun).
This was my 5th year coming back, and spoiler alert: I’ll be back next year too – with a brand new challenge in my pocket and an empty stomach. Vladan,...
