So tempted to make this 4 star's but that would be just because of 95% of the staff. On arrival we were delt with quickly and efficiently and were in our room within 20 minutes. I was a bit put off at how small the room was and that our son was going to be on a mattress squeezed between our bed and the wall on the floor! I returned to the reception and questioned this and was told basically that's how the rooms are! Oh well not to worry you only sleep there! Two days before the end of our second week I got chatting to a couple who was also at the end of their holiday and discovered they had a fold up bed in their room. This couple also checked in same day as us and had no children. They showed me their room and sure enough it was a family room and not a single room like ours, so argue people there are family room's their just poor at organising. Breakfast is the same everyday with boiled, scrambled and fried eggs. Good selection of meats, bread, fruit and cereals. Lunch and dinner is good and if you are a lover of pork this is always on offer. There is a good selection of food and you will always find something you like. At 4pm every day they have snacks, usually nuggets, chips plus fruit and cakes and cheese on bread. The only staff I had an issue with were the kitchen staff after I had a pink piece of pork. I went to the door of the kitchen and showed them and was surrounded by kitchen staff asking me in very loud and aggressive manor what I knew about it. They turned down my offer of eating it themselves, so I would advise looking before you put it in your mouth. There doesn't seem to be enough pool space for the amount of people and at 1.5 meters if your short and can't swim your relegated to the sea. This is also a bit hit and miss as it is rocky (not small stone's) and there is an abundance of urchins so definitely take diving shoes. There is loads of places you can jump straight into deep water and ladders and steps to climb out of. The steps are concrete and are slippery But the ladders are fine. All around the pools are slippery but the staff are constantly drying the steps and surrounding areas. There are a lot of steps here but also slopes if you don't like steps. My son counted 67 steps from main reception to the main eating area, you then have another two flights to the sea. Make sure you take water bottles with you to refill as the local shop is a short walk away. There is as you would expect wasps in abundance but they have set traps. There are loads of sun beds and you can change the towels daily. There is a blow up fun inflatable obstacle course in the sea for the kids which is really fun. The room's are cleaned daily, even Sunday to a very good standard. In your shower the water comes out faster than it goes down the drain, so mind you don't flood the place. Evey night you are guaranteed a sunset over the sea This place could do with a golf car type transport for the less mobile of people as I saw a number of people struggling. This is a good place to holiday but is remote, all excursions seem to take at least an hour and half to get to. There are a few restaurant's here some...
Read moreWe spent a week there in 2020. Loved it. Not perfect but very near. Free room upgrade offered without asking, 2 kids included in package, nice and friendly. Great. Restaurant had weird and ineffective organisation, 2nd floor was closed so it gets overcrowded and loud but hey, covid was a novelty and no one was prepared for it, looks like it was designed for self service which isn't acceptable in new normal. Other than that, enjoyed everything with nice surprises like beach towels included, snacks at the bar and many other. Music, kids play area, animators. Recommended it so much that some of our friends came later.
Came back in 2021. Prices went up noticeable. Paid extra for second kid (4 and 7 ys, family hotel?), room upgrade unrelated extra, car parking extra... In the end about 60% more expensive than previous year for the same thing. Restaurant situation unchanged. One of selling points, aqua park is falling apart. Missing ropes that keep it together, I reported it and since it was an easy fix asked if I could get a piece of rope, because it looks dangerous for kids. Answer was, that's not for a guest to do. And guess what, no one did it. For remaining 4 days of our stay, it lost another 2 ropes so another piece of it separated completely. Got half deflated, so not really usable. Shame. Kids play area was closed every morning after breakfast or after 9, while it should have been opened at 8. Every morning had to go to reception to get someone with a key. In the evening it was closed regularly before 20h, so forget about having a drink after dinner, while kids play there. I'm pretty sure it wasn't like that in 2020. Big bed for parents was uncomfortable and smelly, mattresses should be replaced. Kids slept on sofa which had even worse smell, and judging by cough of smaller one getting worse every day, with allergies and asthma, probably mouldy from other guests not caring about wet clothes or towels. So staying in Dalmacija, with salty sea air and pine trees didn't help his condition, it got worse. And calmed down as we left. No need to be a scientist here.
Upside are people working there. Be it restaurant, bar, cleaning crew or around the pool, very friendly and easy going people and they are what counts. Not only we recognised same staff from last year, they even recognised us. Must be all those gin&tonic at the bar :). Sorry for not leaving a tip which you deserve, we left in a hurry thanks to wrong informations we got from your bosses.
Downside are both mail and telephone communication. Phone inquiry was almost impossible, in every contact that question was for another department or probably someone who is not there at the moment, almost ending with a f** off. Got two wrong extra costs calculations in e-mail, and wrong check out date after that. Deal we made last year for another visit was written off because, as they say, there is no proof of it. Management clearly changed, and should rethink their moves. We will not be...
Read moreNot the worst but still a poor experience compared to the steep price of this hotel. We got a day pass to the all inclusive, so cant really comment on the rooms. The staff was super friendly, and the location is amazing, nature all around. Everything is relatively new, comfortable and clean. Now moving on to the cons of the hotel I have to say the pools are extra small compared to the number of guests. You can barely find an available sunbed or enter the downstairs pool at times. Also very chaotic as most of the guests here are parents with young children so all you can hear is shouting, crying and screaming. Due to the small size of the pool area there is really nowhere to hide from the overcrowded jungle of youngsters, so dont count on any peace and quiet. The beach area is nice and there is a lot of space and available sunbeds. Its mostly just pavement with stairs that go into the water and a small pebble beach at the end, not bad. And the big con for us was the food, for this price you should at least expect decent food. Lunch was mid at best, somewhat tasteless cheap food for the masses. Options/range was not too bad for the hotel of that size but since the food wasn't tasty, the choices felt even fever. The mid-day snack was frozen foods they put in an oven like chicken nuggets, fries and some finger foods. Dinner was same as lunch.
But at the time of our stay, the water pipe burst and there was no juices available and my problem with that is that instead of supplying bottled juice options, they are shamelessly admitting to watering down juices (which we already know these hotels do) but it just feels so so cheap.
So overall you feel a little tricked after paying such a price. Would not really recommend at this price unless you have children and the hotel is close and convenient to visit. If the hotel was to improve on the price, these bad experiences would be easier to digest. The images are taken in the morning while the pools were still not...
