Traveller beware! Rude and racist owner (Zora). The wifi was not working the first night, which I needed for work. I asked and was given another wifi, which also did not work when I returned to my upstairs room. I went back down but she had gone to bed, so I gave up for that night. The following day, I inquired again. She said she had reset the router, and insisted that we were the only ones with wifi problems (we had three devices that neither wifi worked on). This still did not work. The following morning, as we were checking out, there as a miscommunication due to language barrier regarding payment. A few days after we left Croatia and returned to Canada, Zora emailed me the following: "Such a gueste is Not for hotel but for staying in Korea". We are of Korean nationality but are from Canada. Regardless of where we are from, ethnicity should not be a factor here, especially for a place that I am sure receives tourists from all over the world with different mother tongues. Very disappointed to end off our trip in Croatia with this location. Unless you are comfortable with curt and short staff, do not anticipate much care or asking questions, do not need wifi, or do not care for racism, I would not recommend this place despite the beautiful home...
Read moreDue to problems in the hotel I booked I was given alternative accommodation at the Haus am Meer. The property is located 10-15 mins walk from the centre of Cavtat and is only 6 mins away from the airport. ||We had a ground floor family room and had a private separate bathroom. The room was a good size and had air con, a fridge, kettle and of course basics like TV and a hairdryer. ||Unfortunately the WiFi signal was poor and didn't work in the room. The area is very quiet and the only noise you'll hear is the passing planes. ||Cavtat itself offers a peaceful small village vibe. It's a nice base away from the busy old town and has buses (bus 10), taxis and water taxis to the old town along with all the usual island tours. ||Haus am Meer offers a homey stay which has special little touches like spelt pillows to aid sleep and complimentary use of beach towels and beach cushions. The owner Zora was very sweet and made us feel very welcome and...
Read moreWe stayed here for three nights. Haus Am Meer is well located with an uphill walk from the centre of town. The rooms were clean, wi fi worked and breakfast was ok. Reasonable accomodation value for Cavat. ||Unfortunately we did not sleep much for two nights because of two male guests in the next room and balcony, that talked and giggled until 3am and the noise carried even with all our windows and doors shut tight..||We did mention this on the first morning and was told they will be gone after two nights. Well the noise was worse on the second night. |||| We choose Haus Am Meer because it looked like a quite location and on the last night it was, but be warned if you are unlucky enough to encounter rude inconsiderate guests during your stay, your sleep will be compromised.||||This was, unforfunately the worst stay of our 4...
