The four of us stayed at Zoran Zafran in July 2010 the night before our visit to the stunning Plitvicka Lakes National Parks.||||We have travelled extensively around Eastern Europe and are used to staying occasionally in very simple accommodation off the beaten track. ||||I picked Zoran Zafran for its quiet location fairly near the park entrance which meant we could get a head start against many of the summer hoards that can spoil one's enjoyment of the very beautiful lakes.||||The accommodation is very simple, clean, spacious and good value. There was a tv with couch, a nice balcony with a view of fields, and a small kitchenette. Breakfast was typically meagre but OK.||||From the front door you can walk down a track to a pond and then on up the other side to a campground cafe and shop.||||If you like to get off the beaten track and meet the real locals and see their way of life you will be fine...
Read moreIn fact is Smoljanac 88, but it doesn't matter, both Waze and Google Maps will know to take you there. The place is very clean and quiet, lies in a little village, with few other houses around and lots of green. The host is (like most Croatians) very nice, always with a smile (real, not touristic!) and speaking both English and German. Breakfast is extra (5 Euro), but it's worth. The host is also the owner of a little restaurant, where you can have some delicious home made meals (ask for "peka", sheep or pork made, you'll leak you fingers!). The rooms have AC, so you won't suffer from the outside weather. The place is quite close to Plitvice Lakes, maybe a 15 minutes drive and, all in all, very pleasant. And yes, I recommend it...

No restaurants in the immediate surroundings. The apartment had two bedrooms with one doublebed in each room (~150 cm) and in additional a single bed in one of the rooms. Baby coach available.
