Vipo Prestige Apartments — Hotel in Općina Podstrana

We’re just back from a fantastic break in Podstrana Croatia. We stayed at the VIPO Prestige Apartments which were absolutely great in every respect. Here is our review as a family of four (me, my wife and two teen daughters).

The apartments are modern, clean and spacious. They have 2 double en-suite rooms, comfy beds, great showers, decent kitchen, we had a balcony with an amazing view of the sea. there is a free car park. Cibus restaurant next door does a breakfast if you want that option (also does great food with a lovely view in the evening).

The pool is small but the beach is a few metres from the apartments and this is what makes this place special. It is always easy to find a space on the beach in this laid back spot and sunbeds and umbrellas are freely provided by VIPO. The sea is clean and clear and there is a defined area for swimmers with a few water sports places nearby. You can rent SUP boards from the VIPO reception.

Rooms get cleaned every couple of days and both shower and beach towels are supplied. There is a reasonably priced washing service which is very quick (same day). Nothing seems too much trouble (e.g. if you want extra towels, they sort them for you very fast).

The staff are fantastic. Antonija is the main person to deal with and she is very knowledgeable about the area and highly responsive to requests. She recommended restaurants and a taxi service as well as a host of other small things. Ante also deserves a mention as he has the same dedication to customer service.

There are good restaurants within a few minutes walk. Cibus next door is excellent and there are a few further along the beach front that are also nice. You can get up to the small old town (really this is a tiny village) for a couple of other great places to eat but a taxi is needed (€25).

The location is great. It is easy to get to VIPO from Split, despite the busy traffic out of the city. The location is well placed for Omis which is definitely worth a few visits - zip lines, boat rides, more beaches and a charming old town full of restaurants. Overall the area around VIPO has a lovely laid back vibe and is perfect for relaxation. If you want buzzing bars and nightlife then this isn’t the place to come. However, if you want a lovely modern place to stay, with comfy beds, en-suites, views over the sea and a beautiful quiet beach just a few steps away, then this is definitely the place to come. An absolutely fabulous stay here in September , a warm welcome from the lovely Antonija who has been so helpful throughout our stay, she even arranged some flowers for our Wedding Anniversary. She is a massive credit to the Team. The apartments are on the beach with umbrellas, chairs for beach or pool. High tec spacious two bedrooms with kitchen , lounge and kitchen , the rooms have electric shutters and lighting , everything has been thought of to make your stay a luxury holiday. One small consideration - Vipo Prestige is on the main road so a little noisy at the back of the property. Underground parking for those with cars so was a brilliant base for us to explore the coastline . Cibus restaurant is next door for breakfast and sunset quality dinners, there are also a couple of good restaurants along the front. Highly recommend Vipo Prestige - 5 star quality...
