Plitvice Holiday Resort — Hotel in Općina Rakovica

Liked: The s size of the pitch (Exclusive with gazebo) The washing machine cleaned well.

The sunshine.

Disliked: The whole place... The location is poor: we are led to believe that Plitvice National Park is nearby yet it is 5 miles away and the bus does not allow dogs so it means a taxi at £40. One bus didn't even stop. There are no walks nearby either as we were led to believe. Cycling isn't easy on a main road.

The swimming pool is ok when it's quiet but none of the rules are followed: adults and children jumping in and footballs being thrown around. The water left a residue on our skin. Also, the front glass panel by the bar is shattered and displays a small sign saying please don't touch - that's an accident waiting to happen.

The reception staff were rude, arrogant and very uncaring to our situation. They gave us false information and didn't off to help. Ruined my partners birthday trip.

Gardeners strimming and leaf blowing until after 8pm - not tranquil at all. There were workmen on the roof of the ladies toilet/shower block.

The ladies showers were lovely to look at but they were flooded every time I tried to take a shower, the floors were filthy and it was a hazard to walk in there. This was reported to the reception.

The site talks of a lake: a lake that is about 20m round - this is not a lake, more of a pond.

Couldn't take public transport to Rastoke because we have a dog and a taxi would have been 90 Euros.

People don't heed personal pitches and walked through many times rather than walk around.

Access to pitches is poor in a motorhome over 8m. The lose pea gravel causes the wheels to lose grip.

Grey waste water has to flow up to drain away.

Chemical WC and drainage off site! No sanitiser at this point either.

Also led to believe that the sauna and wellness are part of the deal yet I was quoted 160 Euros to use it.

Overall, it was one of the worst places that we have stayed at. Would not recommend for more...

The entire resort is smaller than I envisioned, but really nicely set up and pretty. We rented a mobile home. The covered front porch and dedicated parking were great. The kitchen is fairly well stocked, but has NO storage for food, etc you bring with you. We were travelling as just a couple so put our food in the second bedroom on the vanity area, but it would have been covering the table otherwise. The bathroom was surprisingly large and comfortable...and there was a second full bath! Internet cut on and off some but was mostly good.

The pool is really nice! We were so surprised at the lovely quality. Other aspects of the grounds are also nice and were very under utilized during our stay. We enjoyed the mini gold and the playground and trampoline net by the tree houses looked great for kids.

My one big complaint, which cost a star overall is that maintenance was not great: there is an old key card input (not used) which flashed brightly all night long, nothing would stop it, we asked at reception the next day and were told maintenance would look at it, and at the porch light which flashed on at 90 second intervals all night long but no one did anything and after a second night my husband figured out how to reprogram the outside light and we had mastered shoving a pillow between the TV and wall to block out the indoor flashing. There was a mop and bucket in the second bathroom when we checked in. I showered in there the first morning and learned why...there is a leak and there was 1-2 cm of standing water all over the floor after a very short shower. This was clearly a known issues (thus the mop and bucket) but we were not given notice of this and it had not...

It’s a family camping hotel area. There are a few tree houses and several little bungalows. The tree houses were two and a half floors with only one aircondition at the top floor which accommodated for only that top area. Our friends were very hot especially that we came during summer. The other bungalows were small but the air conditioning was perfect. I was surprised there was no cleaning service, the two days we stayed there was nobody attending to our room or towels. I just agree with the other review on the hygiene. I found it also strange that they only give one card for each unit even if u r two or four people. That card inserts right next to the entrance to turn the electricity on. So if you want to exit your unit, you have to stop running the aircondition and electricity. When I asked for an extra card because we got locked out, the guy at the reception said Strictly I have to return that card. I thought that was strange and not welcoming. They can’t print out new cards or recycle them. The customer service is not good at this place. I felt I was in a dormitory.
