Stayed here May 2025, 5 of us in total so we had 2 one bedroom apartments.||The staff we spoke to were all very helpful and informative about the area and things to do. We arrived earlier than check in & were able to store luggage and head down the pools while we waited on the rooms. Rooms were ready much earlier than expected which was nice. Walk to reception is up a very steep hill so if you have mobility issues this might be a problem. There is a small supermarket on site however it closed about 2pm everyday. ||The apartments themselves were lovely, I think they had been recently refurbished & had everything we could've needed, very handy for self catering. |One apartment had 3 of us, so my friend slept on the sofa bed which she said was very comfortable.|Hot water for the shower ran out very quickly so cold showers were plentiful. We were only here 3 nights so not a big issue but if you were going for longer it's something to think about.|The apartments weren't serviced so we had to take our own bins out, but had no bin liners to replace until we asked. Bedding wasn't changed, floors weren't cleaned etc. Would've been nicer to know upfront as this wasn't listed as un serviced on the easyjet website.|Again we were only there for 3 nights so didn't create a big issue but if you were there for longer.. something to consider given the price. ||The pools were clean. There are 4 pools, one being a shallow splash like pool for kids. There was never really any people other than us but not sure how it would be in busier months as the area itself is small.|The 'amenities' weren't open during our stay - unsure if this is because it wasn't peak time however I assumed the end of May would be the start of the tourist season. Pool bar, mini golf, beach activities, restaurants on the beach were all closed. We didn't eat at the restaurant next to reception so cannot comment on this.||One thing that wasn't advertised is that these apartments are used as a Summer camp type for children, I presume local. So there was groups of kids running around throughout the day - this didn't bother us but would've been nice to know upfront.||The apartments are 4km from Trogir, about an hour walk. We mainly got Ubers which were about 5-8 Euros for the 10 minute drive to Trogir and never had a very long wait so this was helpful. Reception staff warned us not to get private local taxis as they were much more expensive. So I'd recommend either using Uber or booking through the hotel if you want to go anywhere. ||The town Donji Seget nearby didn't really have much in it that we could see except a few restaurants but one of our party is gluten free - these restaurants couldn't cater this. If you have allergies/dietary requirements I'd say go to Trogir for food. The restaurants there were very helpful and people were were accommodating.||Overall, would I stay here again? Probably not. For the price we paid given none of the amenities were open, I'd stay closer to Trogir if this is the area you...
Read moreThere are many positives about this place, but equally as many negatives which could (and did) ruin a summer vacation.
Positives: we stayed at the beachside apartments and so the access to the sea was a stone throw away. Apartments recently renovated, everything was new, staff really accommodating and pleasant. Lots of beachfront vendors and cafes, small kids playground, natural shades on the beach, very safe and our kids roamed around the property without any fear. The restaurants on property were not more expensive than elsewhere. Trogir town was sort of walking distance. Small convenience store on property. Aircons in every room.
Negatives: this is a mixture of private accommodation and a hotel but doesn’t really hit the mark with either. It doesn’t have the amenities of private accommodation, no washing machine or equipped kitchen, no cleaning detergents, you’ll end up doing a LOT of improvised cleaning since they only send staff once a week, and that’s only to change bed linens. The laundry room at Medena charges 18 eur per load so factor that in if you plan to stay longer.
The whole place is pretty run down, paths have no lighting at night, the restaurant serves kids summer camp - type of junk food for breakfast, and overall hygiene was very poor, with litter everywhere. You will need to take out your own trash and the trash containers are overflowing with garbage. Screaming children everywhere, you literally trip over them at breakfast.
Sea urchins everywhere, literally everywhere. Be warned! Also, Trogir Bay Area sea water was ice cold in August.
Overall not the kind of place I’d come back to, we vacation in Croatia for years but this is the only miss we’ve had so far, definitely not a good value for money infrastructure and experience - wise. Definitely needs better management and investment. Staff are pure...
Read moreWhat a shambles!! We have just got back from a 1 week stay at the Medena apartments I am not normally a negative person but 3 star they were not I wouldn't even give them a 1 star.|When we arrived we were told our apartment would be ready in 45 minutes 2 hour later we got the key, when we got in the beds were not made up properly just the bottom sheet on, the top sheet was folded up with the towels which we were told were changed every 3 days they were not changed at all.|We stayed in a "superior " apartment at best it was basic although quite well equipped and clean it could not be described as superior its saving grace was the partial sea view. The apartments were reached by a series of steep footpaths and steps which are an accident waiting to happen many of the steps had broken paving and handrails were non existent as was lighting so walking in the dark without a torch was hazardous.|The 3 swimming pools were just lap pools not a decent size and again there weren't any handrails on the steps into the pools. The sun beds were very uncomfortable and many broken.|We were given the impression from our holiday provider that there are restaurants along the beach this is not true there may have been at one time but apparently they have been closed for the last 5 years. We either had to get the water taxi into Trogir for a decent restaurant or eat in the restaurant attached to the apartments, the food was dreadful I wouldn't feed it to a dog. It was luke warm at best French fries with everything and a choice of chicken or pork dishes lots of mixed up pasta and cold vegetables plus a basic salad bar.|Fortunately the weather was very good which saved the holiday from being a...
