A hidden gem of a view surrounded by Mountains and the sea but 2 hours away from Dubrovnik and expensive if you want to venture out. ||It really is beautiful here in a quaint village but it was very far to do activities especially if you want to be in Dubrovnik.||Food is meh, a little boring and basic. Room is basic, dated, went for the family room as two friends the single chair is a pull out, not much room to walk around. ||Tiny toilet with shower and a bad hairdryer. ||There are a couple of bars/cafes but these were used by the locals. The 2/3 restaurants near us were closed could be due to early season. ||You do have your own small private beach but there are no sun loungers and it’s pebbles no sand. ||You can fish here if you get a licence.||Pool is quite small but hotel is small. ||On arrival we were met by a coach full of 40|Kids on some sort of trip. They were very loud, rude no manners whatsoever, thankfully we were told they were only here for 2 nights but the fact you can’t group book here but allow 40 loud mouthed kids is ridiculous. ||Bar is self serve, you get a small handful of liquors, beer and soft drinks. Upstairs there is another bar with more drinks but you have to pay, still affordable. They do “cocktails” for an hour only per day very strong and not much choice.||The snacks are for an hour per day these consist of fruit that’s been left out for a bit too long and biscuits. ||Definitely do your research about either renting a car etc if you plan to go to other areas if you are coming here even going by bus is a good 2-3 hours and ferries don’t seem reliable as they only run a few times a day to do things to go from Trpanj to Ploce cross the way.||Ploce has numerous coffee shops and maybe 2/3 restaurants but that’s it. You can take a walk to the lakes but that’s as much as it has to be honest.||No lifts are here, you need to go up about 4 flights of stairs outside before going up 3 more stairs to 2nd floor. ||I wouldn’t say this was rated as 3 stars more 2. For the view it’s worth it but everything else it is a let down.||They advertise that you can do kayaking out the front or rent a boat but when asked at the hotel they said no. This could be due to the fact it was the middle of May but still. ||Hotel desperately needs an update. Water taxis would be a good idea rather than just a ferry now and again. ||I found that the locals would be not very welcoming unfortunately, it’s very clearly not a tourist place to go but at least make visitors feel welcome instead of making comments and making you feel uncomfortable. ||In the hotel restaurant terrace, everywhere in fact they allow smoking so you could be eating dinner with someone next to you smoking. ||The 2/3 bars and cafes they chain smoke in there, it’s very smoky and uncomfortable if you have asthma. You will come out stinking of cigarettes. I didn’t think you could smoke inside anymore but this area doesn’t seem to mind. ||If you enjoy a hike there is plenty of routes but they are unmarked so not the safest. ||I really didn’t want this to be a negative review but the only highlights for me were it was a dog friendly hotel so whilst I couldn’t do anything I could see cute dogs which made me happy and the views were absolutely incredible as we were up in...

We spent 3 nights in the hotel. Normally we would not name the personal, but surely on this occasion we have to name receptionist Iva. She has been trying to help and she was keen on it. Definitely she was professional and the highlight of our stay in Faraon hotel.
The personal who worked in kitchen and dining area were amazing. They were working hard and did everything to accommodate needs of all guests. In our room air conditioner didn't work at all but upon our visit to the reception, it has been fixed quickly. Room was reasonabely clean and bed have been reasonably comfortable. We did like balcony and views from our room. Beach was beautiful.
Negatives:
I wish we did go somewhere else instead. But I did insist because I used to come in Trpanj as a child with my parents. So, I should blame myself for booking. We didn't get prefered premium room. There are a lot of stairs, in fact 110 to our room. The hotel's parking is about 400 m away and it's just grass field. There is no security on the parking lot.
This it's definitely the hotel which attracts people on buget. Some behavior with mostly foreigns group guests, unapropriate food touching and choosing with bare hands, laudness, and non respecting others are definitely not acceptable and did put us off. Not that I have anything against foreners but I have a lots against people behaving badly. The beach is beutiful but you have to pay for chairs. On other side, we have not been able to have a pool chair even once during our stay, as is not enough of them and they are always covered with towels. The hotel doesn't provide beach or pool towels either. Therefore b.y.o. The quality of drinks were basic. Especially prepared cocktails which were too sweet.
Hotel rooms were without mini fridge or safe. If you want them you have to pay for it. Balcony door or shutters didn't close properly. Bathroom had a bed odor. Molded shower. The vanity was partially blocked. They did supply only one small hair and body sachet per day for two people. Room wasn't cleaned on daily basis but fresh towels have been supplied.
I am the lover of domestic pets, but surely if you are the owner of your dogs, for example, you would not let them urinate on pool area. We have been extremly surprised that owner did not react at all after one of his dog urinated. The behaviour of dogs and their owner should be regulated to the highest level.
There is so much space for improvements. It is a shame as I do believe that Adriatic see is the best in world. But at this occasion we have been disappointed. Because of these negatives I don't think we would recommend the hotel or would like to return here. At the end, you get what...
Read moreThis hotel is about one thing and one thing only. The beautiful town of Trpanj. Unfortunately, they are the only game in town so to speak, therefore they have little incentive to be anything better than average.||Pro's - we stayed in a premium sea view room. For that we had an average sized room, with two twin beds pushed together and a small TV. In the bathroom we had a full sized bath with a shower over head. While this room was dated, it was comfortable, with functioning climate control and a balcony with exceptional views over the beach and sea beyond. | |The food in the hotel was relatively well cooked. There was limited choice but for those not willing to venture to one of Trpanj's many reasonably priced and delicious restraunt's, you won't go hungry. | |There is also a children's pool and adults pool which were fine, if nothing special. | |Cons: it was advertised that a kids club is present in this hotel. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be accurate. The hotel do employ two Women to perform this duty, but it seems as if there phone's are much more interesting. We have witnessed them sitting head down, in the shade on there phone's and putting on music on the speaker system, nothing more.|| The rest of the staff, while friendly seem to mainly consistent of teenagers who wait till the end of the evening to start helping them selves to the self service drinks. This is with the exception of the reception staff and cleaning staff, who were incredibly professional.||The all inclusive should have coffee all day long, not just for an hour in the afternoon. I cannot see this being a cost thing, more a staff don't want to bother thing. And there should be more choice of food also. We had one dinner only. We ended up eating out as we felt the choice just two limited.| |Overall, we would not return ourselves. This hotel isn't really aimed at British Touristst. We have stayed in other hotels where that is the case, but have at least felt welcome. If you just want a base to exli the beautiful scenery, I would suggest a villa would be more cost effective and more enjoyable! But overall, we did have a lovely holiday and the views...
