Oniochori is made up of 2 apartments and a pool house. We stayed in the 1st floor apartment which is much larger than ||the photographs suggest. Traditionally and beautifully decorated with equipped everything you could possibly need (and more) ||The 1st floor apartment consists of living/kitchen/dining area with fully equipped kitchen and TV/Radio/CD player and ||air conditioning etc. ||1 bedroom with lots of storage space and air-con, a bathroom with shower bath, toilet and sink as well as storage areas. ||Off the bedroom are double doors leading on to a large terrace (with table and chairs). Myself and my partner spent every ||evening on the balcony enjoying the bright stars and planets in the dark night skies, perfect if you have an interest in ||astronomy, the night skies are spectacular with a clear view of the Milky Way. We saw shooting stars every evening, ||the International Space Station and a couple of satellites pass over. ||The buildings are made of gorgeous traditional stone and in keeping with the rest of the village. ||The outside area has a lovely clean pool (essential for cooling off in the hot weather) a shaded area with tables, comfortable chairs, ||sun loungers and candles and even somewhere to plug in your phone/MP3 to play your music though a speaker. ||The apartment is a wonderfully comfortable place to stay. ||We also had a look at the pool house, its perfectly equipped & decorated for a couple or a single traveller. ||||The location is roughly 45 minutes from Paphos airport and 20 minutes from Limassol by car. Its also near to many ||traditional villages. I would recommend use of a car to make the most of the area and the island. ||||The highlight of the holiday for us was meeting the owners of the property Andros and Mary. They couldn't have been ||sweeter, gracious, generous or more hospitable with their time, space and belongings. They gave us lots of great advice on what to see ||and do, restaurants, beaches, sites of interest etc. They even cooked delicious food for us. We have formed a special ||friendship with Andros & Mary. So much so there is nowhere we'd rather stay in Cyprus and we're planning a return trip next year and||bringing family along with us. ||||If you want to stay in a beautiful traditional part of Cyprus you won't be disappointed with Oniochori. We can't recommend it highly enough!||||Happy...
Read moreWe stayed for two nights at this beautiful little getaway in Vouni. Andreas and Mary are the best hosts we have ever had the pleasure to meet! The apartment was lovely with a comfy bed, sofa and well equipped kitchen. Everything was spotlessly clean. We had direct access to the pool outside and a lovely poolside shaded seating area. The whole place was decorated beautifully in a sort of rustic style with a wonderful eye for detail and some fab antique pieces. Mary and Andreas obviously have a passion for what they do and love meeting new people. Nothing was too much trouble and we had some lovely chats. Andreas even showed us how to make a yummy zatar mix for our morning pittas using local oregano. We could have stayed far longer but unfortunately we already had plans. This is the perfect place to switch off and unwind. The village itself is also lovely. Andreas made us a reservation at Takis Taverna, where we enjoyed a fabulous mezze. We hope to be back one day, cannot recommend highly enough. Thanks guys for being so welcoming! The bottle of wine and fruit bowl was also fabulous. Hope to see you...
Read moreWe had a magical stay in Oinochori in Vouni – after 2 weeks we didn’t want to leave! It is characterful, spacious and cool – we stayed in August and didn’t need the aircon at all. The kitchen is well equipped with a large fridge, hob and oven and a large sink. The spacious living area has 2 sofa beds and a TV, and another sitting area next to the large log burner, and everywhere was meticulously clean. ||There are two verandas with tables and chairs, both of which have fantastic views over the surrounding countryside, and the pool has a lovely relaxed sitting area and loungers to enjoy the Cyprus sunshine. ||We were hosted by Mary and Andros during our stay, and they were friendly, helpful and kind – Mary even started teaching my children to crochet! ||Vouni provides a perfect base for exploring both the Troodos mountain, Limassol and the beach at Kourion. The village has a fantastic little coffee shop and a we enjoyed delicious meals at Alexandros’ taverna. We will definitely be back - highly...
