We had the misfortune to stay at this hotel as part of a cycling holiday with Bents Tours. This was by far the worst hotel out of the four we stayed in. The hotel is a bit run down in places although the walls look to have been freshly painted. ||||The bedroom allocated to us could only be described as bizarre. A very small room into which two beds had been shoehorned lengthways with the following furniture squeezed in the remaining space a wardrobe, small table, single chair, one bedside table on which there was an antiquated TV. It was difficult to negotiate out way to the beds let alone out our suitcases somewhere. In comparison the bathroom was huge and I mean huge but very dated. It became apparent that the room was for a disabled person into which they had decided to put an extra bed (and furniture), presumably to enble them to claim it was a twin room and charge extra. The bedding on both beds (including the stained matresses) had seen better days. We didn't even have the benefit of overlooking the lake but the main road. If you are offered room 4 - keep your money firmly within your grasp and run for the door to look for a better hotel. ||||Breakfast was basic, again by far the worst out of the hotels. We didn't even bother on the second morning, opting instead for the local "ASDA" which bakes fresh delicious pastries each morning.||||The public areas are a bit tired. There is a small indoor swimming pool which we didn't use. I don't think I would have trusted them to properly clean and chlorinate the pool. The sun terrace was pleasant but again a bit run down. This could be quite a nice hotel with more investment and with owners who cared and managed the...
Read moreOur party of eight had a great week-long holiday here in February 2014. We booked as we couldn't get into our usual place (the Hancova Bouda, Benecko) and because the lake Lipno area has good value family friendly skiiing options.||||Our family room was massive and well equipped. It was very comfortable as was the restaurant and the welcome sauna and swimming pool. My son and I swam every day before dinner. The half pension meals were fantastic value and great quality. Really good Czech food, big portions and well presented - the food was a high point for us and the two children (4 and 6) ate very well. Also - good booze - Plzenske Prazdroj and decent Moravian wine.||||The cost was very reasonable considering the facilities. I would recommend the halfpension options. The were some wee animals in the foyer that both the children took a great interest in and enjoyed seeing every morning.||||There wasn't much snow so our cross country skiing was limited. The owners gave us very good advice on local downhill options, mountain biking and local sight seeing. Both were very helpful. I'd like to go back in summer to see the sailing and mountain biking options and to make another Winter trip...
Read moreWe stayed here for 2 nights whilst on a cycle touring holiday. It may well be that if you book direct with the hotel then you get a better room, but our room was BASIC: not quite Youth Hostel basic, but certainly the worst hotel on our tour... ||||The room was spartan and the bathroom didn't even have a plug for the sink; the 'Dove Shower creme' in the shower had been re-filled with something that smelled like toilet cleaner and the towels were thin and well-worn. The room was cool and very quiet though.||||If you like instant coffee and cereals that have been left out in a large open bowl all day, then you may like the breakfast more than I did!!!||||The service was friendly and the staff even allowed a dozen bicycles to be left in the reception area overnight, so as to ensure their security.||||The outside patio area was quiet and had several large brollies to offer shade from the sunshine, but watch out for the broken...
