We stayed here by chance several years ago, and remembered both the town and the hotel well enough to book again for 3 nights recently, as part of an exploration of this beautiful area of the Czech Republic. We weren't disappointed! The building is historic, and beautifully restored, so has lots of character (though it lacks a lift, so is a non-starter for the seriously disabled); at the same time, it is bang up-to-date, with satellite TV, fast and straightforward free wifi, and even an in-room PC. The bedroom was large, with two windows overlooking the main square, which is surrounded by lovely restored historic houses, and has light traffic, which the double windows were well able to exclude any noise from. The bed was huge and just the right firmness, and the bathroom modern and spotless. Downstairs, the restaurant is not only convenient, but the food and wine selection was great. The staff were universally charming and efficient, and accommodated our zero knowledge of Czech with great understanding. Read moreThe Golden Lion is a great local hotel well suited to business trips.||Just 10 rooms in a square and building which could have been used as a film set, long stone corridors large rooms.||The restaurant is well priced and the quality of food is above average for a three star hotel restaurant. The wine selection is also reasonable.||The rooms have slightly too much furniture for a hotel, enough that you could unpack for couple of months and still have a spare cupboard, the bed was made up from two generous singles - which is odd as there wasn't room to split them apart. TV with local channels only, full spec PC (didn't try it out so no idea how good connection is).||Rooms on top floor are warm but that is to be expected as no air conditioning.||The town and the square are quaint, it took a good hour to stroll around followed by a cold Czech Beer.||A good business hotel, not sure what else is around here to stay at...
Read moreVery nice hotel directly in the city center. It is a 16th century building with good atmosphere and interior.
The rooms are nice and very well equipped - there is shampoo, shower gel, lotion, toothbrush & toothpaste, shower cap, vanity pack, hairdryer and even a sewing kit. You can also prepare tea and enjoy some snacks as well. Bottled water available too.
As for the breakfast, there is a wide selection of food including fresh fruit and vegetable, pastry, spreads, cheese, ham, and more.
There is a free parking in the back with back entrance to the hotel.
We’ve been here already 3 times and will likely come back again. Recommend to choose one of the rooms overlooking the main square.
