Penzion Starr — Hotel in okres Havlíčkův Brod

😊: As mentioned by other reviewers, the outside looks a bit intimidating but the rooms are all refurbished. We had suite 3-10 and it was super quiet - and very spacious ;-) We both thought the breakfast was very good - there's something there for everyone, though the coffee machine took a bit of figuring out. The lady at reception was accommodating even though she didn't speak any English (& my Czech consists of a few badly-pronounced words!) The location is good - a 10 minute stroll into town. Plenty of parking on site. The reception stocks a few things that people might need, and that's where we also got the tea/coffee etc for the room. The wi-fi was good - we had no problems at all with it. We both agreed that we wouldn't hesitate to return.. 😢: We felt the room was a little cold despite the heating being on full - it might be to do with the size of it or the fact that that there's no door between the living area and the bedroom. It would be nice to not have to hold the shower head when showering, but that's a minor detail & there was plenty of hot water. 😊: I didn't know what to expect... the outcome was superb ! From the outside it can look ugly, but it's not. I didn't have a room, but an appartement (except kitchen) very clean with good wifi and everything working well. Staff (despite basic english knowledge) has been very helpfull. Don't judge a book by its cover: this place is a hidden gem! A comfortable, clean, and hugely spacious room was a perfect base for a two-night stay in Jindřichův Hradec with my partner, our small dog, and me. The guesthouse is perfectly situated within walking distance to the town center, shops and train station. We also enjoyed a few beers in the garden in the back.
