Penzion U České koruny — Hotel in okres Jičín

You’ll not go back home and talk about Pension U Ceske Koruny; neither will you tell your friends that you stayed in a guesthouse that provided nothing except a bed for the night. But... I succeeded in snatching the double that looked over Valdstejnovo namesti and so back home, I had the chance to talk about Waldstein’s majestic chateau that stared at me whenever I looked out of the window. Additionally, the square was the venue for music concerts or folk-dancing festivals each evening I was here and so I could enjoy a superb overhead view from the comfort of my room. The double I stayed in here for 5 nights was not a simple hotel room but two huge rooms combined, their total area enough to accommodate a family. The bedroom, fitted in with a double bed and fine period furniture was decorated with a surrounding frieze that ran around the top part of the walls and added a sense of antiquity to the ambience. The other room, as huge as the bedroom contained a three-piece sitting suite, not actually comfortable to lie on by today’s standards but a real showpiece ideal for exhibition purposes. A locked Victorian showcase containing pieces of delicate porcelain and fine crystal ware complemented the decor. On the downside, the rooms have no bathrooms and private facilities are only available down the corridor. The bathroom, though not included within the room was for my sole private use... but again, it consisted of a tiny cubicle with a shower and a small wash-hand basin. Squeezing myself into the shower was an arduous task, difficult at times and annoying at others. Run by an old house mistress with the assistance of her husband, Ceske Koruny is as clean and orderly as any nostalgic old home used to be. The smell of boiling coffee beans pervades in the corridor day and night but none better than in the early morning. Fill in your cup with the percolated stuff grandma used to make as many times...

Ubytování příjemné, postele OK, topení-teplota 20 st C (listopad) na pokoji, majitel vstřícný + přijemný, rodinná atmosfera a společná zajímavá hala, vybavení na vlastní přípravu snídaní + lednice + konvice+ mikrovlnka dobré, parkování na náměstí s park. kartou, klidná lokalita, pokoje bez soc. zařízení - bylo přes chodbu. Postarší pokoje se starším nábytkem, ale svůj účel splní. Taktéž koupelna se záchodem (mimo pokoj). Majitel moc příjemný, v případě potřeby se podělí o zajímavosti z Jičína. Pokud nečekáte vyloženě luxus, s tímto...
